My Favorite Word
Some people like words
like firefly and shimmer,
words that sing a melody
while painting in your head,
but my favorite word is
and.
And doesn't sing.
And doesn't paint.
And looks lost
on a line by itself, but
and reminds me I can be both
happy and sad,
I can not like something
and like it too.
I don't always have to
choose.
