I feel like an outcast,
Trying to fit in but in vain
Maybe if I'd hang out with the popular crowd,
Maybe, just maybe, I'd find somewhere I could belong.

Everyone listens to them,
For they are the ones who set the trend,
Never once they had their voices unheard - unlike me,
But I didn't know back then, the price I had to pay for this.

But I've seen it happen ever since I was in school,
Though it's wrong, all the popular kids were the ones who steal the spotlight,
Making others, like me, feel we need to be like them to achieve something,
If we wanna have a life.

But as I grew older and did what I thought when I was younger,
I realized trying to be someone who I'm not,
Is a one-way ticket to the dark side.
Thank God, I came out alive.

If I could go back and knew what I know now,
I would've said to myself, 'You can shine when you find YOURSELF and not the popular crowd'.
