Jeongguk slammed his book shut with a sigh.
He was positively done preparing for the next day's exam. There was nothing there to learn anymore. Still, his hands wouldn't stop shaking. It was a final exam, after all.
If he felt like this after attending every class, he couldn't imagine how Taehyung would be feeling at the moment, being a senior and having missed more than half of his classes.
The said boy wasn't even replying to his texts but Jeongguk wasn't too upset about it. He just wished he could do something to ease him up somehow.
He looked back at his book and sighed again.
There really wasn't anything left for him to study.
He slammed his hands on the table as he got up. Grabbing a jacket, he dialled Namjoon's number. He wanted to know where Taehyung was, but he didn't want to let Taehyung know that he was coming over. He wanted it to be a surprise.
He sighed in relief when Namjoon told him that Taehyung was with him. He wasn't too keen on meeting Taehyung's parents, after all. The one time he had talked to them after returning from a little date with Taehyung had almost made him piss his pants and he had had enough of them already. He didn't want to face them again. Not so soon.
"Eomma, I'm going out to me-"
Jihyo ran out of the kitchen with her eyes wide in shock. She had a spatula raised high up in the air as if she was going to thrash Jeongguk with it.
"Where are you going when you have an exam tomorrow?! Shut up and go back to your room and study!!" she scolded him.
"Eomma, I'm going to Namjoon hyung's house for some doubts, relax. You can call and ask him if you want. I really am goi-"
"Get me my phone. I'll send you after talking to him," she said and Jeongguk sighed as he trudged towards the living room to search for his mother's phone.
"Ah, yes, Namjoon-ah....yeah, he just told me he has doubts and that he was coming over to your house...... he is so untrustworthy....yeah, okay.....if it's your house, then I'm fine with it, of course.....at your house?!....the entire night?!....uh, yeah, you are right. It would be easier to just study there and clear his doubts whenever he wants....alright, then. I'll send him over right away.....thank you, good night to you too, sweety."
Jeongguk gaped at his mother. The little bits of conversation that he heard from his mother's side drove him to a conclusion that he did not want to arrive at yet. He didn't want to get his hopes up yet.
"Go pack your bag. You are spending the night with Namjoonie."
Jeongguk's jaw slacked completely. Did his mother just agree to him spending the night at Namjoon's house so easily? Without him even asking? In fact, he hadn't even asked Namjoon for that. Was Namjoon some angel in disguise? Could he buy him a bouquet of flowers on his way to his house?
"What?!" Seokjin asked with his hands in his pockets as he climbed down the stairs. "Are you sending our Jeonggukie to Joon's house alone? He's a baby and with those huge doe eyes, he'll get lost in this large city. I'll take him there and make sure he studies the entire night."
Jihyo rolled her eyes. She didn't know about her son's affair with her nephew's boyfriend's brother, but she surely knew about her nephew and his boyfriend. Seokjin's words weren't enough to fool her. In fact, they weren't enough to fool even a stray dog.
Still, a man could try, after all.
"He texted me right after the call with Imo ended, begging me to save him from the plight of having to spend the night with you and Tae," Seokjin said with a chuckle on their way to Namjoon's house.
