Ummm guys I didn't think about this LMAO, can we pretend Baji doesn't live in an apartment building and is still neighbors with Mikey? Chifuyu can live at the next house down so don't worry!!

Also sorry this chapter is kind of short.

As the three walked home, N/N explained everything that happened before the two got there. The most shocking part though, was this.

"Mikey, is there a reason you didn't seem concerned that I involved myself in Toman matters?" Y/N wondered suspiciously.

"...Well, how could I be concerned, when you handled it like a badass!" He laughed, swinging his arms as Draken nodded in agreement.

N/N blushed naturally at his praise and smiled.

"Huh, I guess I did look pretty badass." she giggled.

"Yeah, you really got that bastard good." Draken laughed.

Mikey hummed to himself before stopping in his tracks. Draken and Y/N both stood still, as the blonde was a few feet away, his back facing them. 

There was a short pause for the next few seconds, until he spoke up.

"Listen, I know you can handle yourself," Mikey smiled as he spun around, starting to walk backward, "I've never met another girl as strong as you are...!" 

 "Just...be careful, alright?"

The girl stood in silence as she took in his words.

"He...acknowledged my strength? " she thought, feeling a sense of fluster washing over her.

She couldn't stop the wave of heat from taking over her face, and settled on nodding her head slowly as she joined the two others. 

The three continued their walk home, and Y/N was still mentally recuperating.

"Man, you really know how to charm a girl, Mikey! Learned some tricks from your bro?" Draken teased, nudging his short friend, "just look at her face, it's a tomato!"

The blondes had both turned their heads to face the still flustered N/N, who was currently lost in her own thoughts. She couldn't look him in the eyes until this feeling went away.

The feeling she's been trying to hide since she was 12.

"Huh..." 

"Haha! N/N, are you embarrassed or somethin'?" Mikey laughed, circling around Draken in order to link arms with the h/c girl.

This action caused Y/N to snap out of her trance, although, seeing the close contact between the two had only made her condition worse.

"W-what?! I am NOT embarrassed, thank you very much." she denied, turning her head away from Mikey in a pout.

"In fact, you should be the one embarrassed, considering a girl was able to take down one of your strongest men!" she boasted, attempting to shift the focus onto him instead.

"Tsk tsk tsk, not my strongest!" Mikey corrected, poking the girl's cheek.

"Ugh...stop that!"

The two continued to bicker as Draken waited for an opening to intervene.

Unfortunately, there was none.

"Jesus...these two." he thought.

Pulling the best friends apart, he received some glares.

"God, would you two shut up? I've been trying to tell you that this is my stop for about five minutes now." Draken groaned.

"Oh, sorry Kenchin!" Mikey sheepishly smiled, scratching his neck.

"We'll see you later then!" Y/N waved goodbye.

---- 10  minutes later.

It had been a little while, and they'd finally reached home. Mikey made sure to walk Y/N to her house before he went to his own home. 

"Alright, we're here," Mikey informed, dusting off his pants.

"Thanks for the Dorayaki, Bye Bye N/N!" he smiled as he waved goodbye.

When the girl reached her front door, she was about to enter before something stopped her.

"Hey...Mikey." Y/N called out.

"...Yeah, what's up?" he asked.

The girl turned to face him as she fiddled with her fingers. Even after she proved to him she didn't need his help to defend herself, she knew he would never stop protecting her.

"I just want you to know...you don't have to worry about me." she smiled softly.

"I'll be just fine on my own!" 

The two stood there in silence for a moment, and it felt peaceful. But eventually, he had come up with a response.

"Yeah, I know." he smiled back.

Y/n believed what she was saying to him was true, he didn't need to worry about her, he needed to worry about himself, and she could protect him.

But if Shinichiro Sano was here to witness this exact moment himself...

he'd know right away that she was lying.
