"Yep! Takemitchy here is my bud∼" Mikey cooed, slinging his arm around the bleach blonde.

 It's been a few minutes since things went down, and the bell had finally rung. 

"I'm so sorry!!" Hinata panicked as she bowed to the 3 friends.

"I made a huge, huge, mistake..." she mumbled.

"Eh, it's fine. Sorry for scaring you," 

"that would've been one hell of a slap though..." Mikey laughed as he cupped his cheek.

Hina apologized dozens of times more from all the embarrassment and guilt before Mikey finally put it to a stop.

"Hey, listen. It's nice that you stood up for your boyfriend...but don't overdo it, okay?" he smiled, "things would've gotten ugly if I was someone who'd fight back."

Hina nodded frantically in response before turning around.

"Well, I think it's time for me to go...!" she smiled back at the group.

"Huh? but what about our date?!" Takemichi questioned.

"We'll go some other time, your friends came to see you, after all," she responded.

"But-" 

"No buts!!" Hinata argued, pushing Takemichi to stand with the rest of his friends.

"Alright then, bye-bye! Don't try to slap me next time!"Mikey teased, waving goodbye.

The 3 boys started to walk off before realizing Y/N hadn't been following them.

"Huh? N/N, you coming?" Mikey asked with a confused look on his face.

"Nah...I uh, got some things to do," N/N said as she walked backward, "sorry! I'll come over later!"

"Oh, and Takemitchy, about that chat? Tomorrow before classes starts, meet me behind the school!"

The boys all stood there dumbfounded as the girl quickly disappeared back into the school.

"Huh, weird." Draken shrugged.

"Since when does she have afterschool plans?" Mikey pointed out, "anyways...Takemitchy."

"Hinata's a sweet girl. Don't have many of those around these days," he continued, "you better treat her right!"

"Ah...she is," Takemichi laughed nervously, "but uh, isn't N/N your girlfriend? What about her?"

Draken tried hard not to laugh at this common assumption and looked at Mikey with teasing eyes.

"Well, I wouldn't call her sweet with that attitude of hers, but she's surely one of a kind!" Mikey laughed.

"Though, she's not my girlfriend," he added seconds later.

--- meanwhile, inside the school.

"Tachibana!!" Y/N called out, attempting to catch up to the pink-haired girl.

Turning around in confusion, Hina saw the familiar h/c girl running towards her, and therefore stopped in her tracks. 

"Huh...?" 

Y/N finally came to a halt as she stood with her hands on her knees.

"W-wait up..." she panted.

Hinata stood there confused as she waited for the girl to catch her breath. A small blush formed on the h/c girl's face from her embarrassment, but she kept her composure.

"Hey...would you want to uh," Y/N mumbled, standing up straight, "maybe get something to eat?"

--- at the diner---

"I wanted to apologize, Tachibana." Y/N scratched her neck.

"I realized you were just looking out for Takemichi, you had every right to assume the worst...so, I'm sorry for being so mean earlier." she admitted.

...

"...The truth is, I've wanted to be your friend for a while!" Y/N confessed.

A few seconds later, and no response from Hina. She looked surprised, and a small blush could be seen on her face.

"O-oh, that was a weird thing to say wasn't it?!" she panicked, "I wasn't stalking you or anything, it's just, I don't have any friends in school and I always noticed how everyone likes you so much."

"It made me curious to know you, and now I can see why you're as popular as you are."

Y/n has never been as nervous and embarrassed as she was now. When it came to making new friends besides her childhood ones, she had a hard time. Most people thought she was rude and aggressive, or too weird and self-reserved.

But if they just took the time to get to know her...

"Hahaha! What a coincidence!" Hinata laughed, covering her mouth.

Y/N tilted her head in confusion as Hina regained her composure.

"You know, it's funny. I've always been curious about you too."

"So...let's be friends." she smiled.

Y/N's eyes lit up in surprise, and she couldn't help but feel happy.

"Really? I thought the way I acted earlier would have scared you off...but I still wanted to apologize no matter what." she admitted.

Hinata shook her head, and took a sip of her water.

"Nope! I understand that you reacted that way because you wanted to protect that boy... Mikey, was it?" she asked.

Y/N nodded as she began to feel her cheeks heat up. 

"And then when I thought about it, I realized we're pretty similar."

...

"Huh, you're right. I guess we are, Tachibana." Y/N smiled.

"Call me Hina! And if it's okay, I'll call you N/N?" Hinata asked.

"Yeah, I'd like that." 

--- after eating ---

"So...about that Mikey," Hinata smirked, crossing her hands on her lap.

"Huh? What about him?" Y/N asked.

"Well..."

"You love him, don't you?" 

There it was, the question Y/N had been praying she wouldn't ask her. Her face immediately turned red, and she silently choked on her own spit.

"Alright, there's always the easy way out...!" she thought.

"Yeah, he's my best friend, of course I love him." Y/N smiled innocently.

Hinata sighed, "Yeah, duh. Come on, you know what I mean!"

"So, do you?" she asked again, grabbing Y/Ns hands from across the table.

N/N sat there with her lips parted. She wanted to speak, but she didn't know if she could bring herself to. 

But with her new friend holding her hands and smiling at her so gently, she felt like she could tell her anything. Maybe it was time to stop ignoring her problems. 

Just maybe.
