The moon looks low enough to touch, the black of night fades into a deep, bright blue. The first birds of the morning sing. They're already up. Maybe it's time for them, too. Sora checks his watch as best as the brunette can, but the dying light fades almost a second after Sora activates it.
☁️Hey, Roxas?☁️ Sora whispers. ☁️Let's get up. We might as well--right? Since we're awake?☁️
🍦Right,🍦Roxas replied, his voice little more than a quiet, painful croak. Sora feels groggy and slow as he climbs to his feet, but in comparison to Roxas, Sora is as fresh as a daisy. The brunette watched the golden blond reach to unzip his bag, reaching for his medication, but Sora very gently intervened by placing a hand over his. Sora keeps his voice low as the brunette stops Roxas.
☁️I think you were right. Let's forget about the medication. I think that stopping will actually get you back to...☁️ Sora had almost wanted to say 'normal'. ☁️Yourself.☁️
🍦Yeah,🍦 Roxas says, dropping his hand. 🍦Maybe.🍦
Sora hates when Roxas just... agrees with him so easily. No matter how bad Sora thought Roxas was before, this is worse. This is scary. And somehow it makes Sora doubt everything, too. The brunette means, if he really liked Roxas and cared about him the way Sora had been saying, would he be so constantly annoyed at Roxas for being himself? Would Sora get so mad at Roxas over things he can't control? Would Sora have been so reluctant to take care of Roxas when he was sick? If Sora really trusted him, wouldn't he have stopped pushing by now?
If Sora loved him, he thinks that he would be happy to put up with all of it. Wouldn't want to change Roxas. And Sora doesn't. But then again Sora does.
Maybe nothing Sora did was for Roxas own good. Maybe everything Sora did was out of desperation for acceptance. For a friend. To feel wanted. Maybe Sora was just being selfish.
