Deridiculo
BELLE LET OUT a cold, chilling shriek, waking up and she realizing that she was on the ground. She was wet from all the sweat that had been coming from her body. She ached everywhere, as if she had collided with an 18 wheeler. With all the energy that she had left, she pushed herself off of the rough ground and dusted herself off.
"Yoongi!" she called out to him. Only an echo yelled back.
She was cold and afraid as she walked in whatever direction. The night continued to wash darkness over the woods, night time seemed to be endless.
She trembled all over with fear, the fear of knowing that her best friend was out there somewhere with the creature. She wanted to save him from it but she wasn't strong enough. Again, she had in in good measure to believe that this was all her fault.
Who knows, maybe the creature took him back to that house of horrors.
The thought itself sent a chill down her spine and goosebumps littered her arms.
Walking all alone, she tried her hardest to remember what direction the creature went when it knocked her out. "Where are you...?" she whispered to herself. Her beloved best friend who didn't deserve any of this was now missing.
She walked until she stopped by a peculiar tree. One she had never seen before. The tree was long and stretched our right into the sky. It seemed to be longer than all the pine trees that surrounded the woods. Its bark was soft yet had a certain roughness to it.
Her small hand explored the bark of the tree further when a certain mist sprayed out from the tree and blinded Belle momentarily.
She stepped back, tripping on a stone and falling back.
She shook her head furiously and rubbed her eyes but the stinging pain didn't stop. Her breathing was rapid and caused a quickened heart rate. As she continued rubbing her eyes, she thought she saw a figure standing before her. But she couldn't make out what it was.
"You inhaled the mist. That's not good." She heard a soft voice speak.
It was the little girl... but why was she there with Belle?
"Belle, you have to get out of here. Lee made another one of them and he's out to get you." The little girl said. Belle noticed that she was barefoot.
"How did you get here? How did you manage to escape the house?" the teenage girl asked, feeling incredibly confused.
"I can leave the house whenever I want." She said and walked with Belle. "I've been there for so long that Lee knows I'd never be able to find my way home. I'm stuck here and I don't want you to be stuck here either."
Belle felt bad for the girl. She was only a child yet there she was, in the woods with Belle and Yoongi and Lord knows how many else were there.
"Do you know what happened to Yoongi?" Belle asked, looking down at the girl. "We were walking together when that thing attacked us. It took him but I don't know where."
"Oh no..." She put her hand over her mouth. "I think it might have taken Yoongi back to Lee. This is bad, this is very bad."
Panic set in for Belle. "What do I do?" she asked. "I can't go back that house. I won't make it out alive."
"You want to save your friend, don't you?"
"Y-yeah, I do but the thought of going back there when I don't even know where I am right now..."
"I know where the house is. Walk with me and we'll be there in no time." AJ walked beside Belle and led them to the house.
They walked for a while but it felt like days to Belle. She looked up and saw a bit of sunlight. She smiled, knowing that the woods would be less scary now that the sun was coming up.
"Hey, AJ. That tree back there. What kind is it? I've never seen it before." Belle asked the little girl who was focused on getting to their destination.
"It's a Sorcerer's Widow. The toxins in it aren't really lethal but they've been known to cause hallucinations." She said nonchalantly.
It hit Belle just then. AJ appeared as soon as she inhaled the mist so the little girl beside her is just a hallucination!
"Don't worry, Belle. I might be a figment of your imagination but I'm not here to harm you; I'm here to help." She said with a smile that seemed creepy now that Belle knew exactly what she was.
"I'm talking to a demon..." she whispered to herself.
AJ heard her and stopped. "I am not a demon, neither am I here to hurt you. The real demon is in there," the girl pointed at the dreaded house, "Lee is the real demon. He hurts people and leaves parts of them scattered all over these woods for his monsters to feed on."
Belle's eyes went wide. She wondered if Lee had done the same with Taehyung. She wondered if he was scattered all over the woods. She gulped and blinked rapidly. "I believe you, AJ."
"Well, there is the house. What you do next is all you. This is where I leave you." AJ said.
"But-"
Just like that, she was gone. Belle couldn't believe her eyes. She looked around but the little girl was nowhere to be found.
So there she was, face to face with the very house she fought so much to leave but she was determined to find Yoongi... even in it did cost her life.
She took a step forward and was startled by the front door suddenly crashing open with force.
Yoongi was thrown out of the house and his body hit the porch with a sickening thud. Belle heard the boy groan loudly and ran up to help him. "Yoongi!" she yelled.
He looked confused for a while. "Belle, run! Run, now!" he said and took off. "Let's go! Move faster!"
As they ran, they heard loud growling behind them. The beast, the same one that had taken Yoongi from the woods and back to the house was now in hot pursuit of them. It was hot on their heels.
"Zig zag!" Belle heard Yoongi yell. "Run in a zig zag pattern."
She did as she was told and it was working. The beast was getting confused and didn't know who to run after.
A loud shotgun went off causing Yoongi and Belle to hit the ground and take cover. The beast behind them howled and grunted in pain.
Bang!
Another bullet was shot. Belle looked back and saw the beast now on the ground heaving and whimpering as blood came pouring from its neck and chest. It's brown eyes were now an obsidian colour.
Yoongi walked over to where Belle was standing, in front of the fallen beast. "Who shot it?"
"I have no idea but we should send them a 'Thank you' note as soon as we get out of here." Yoongi said and grabbed Belle's forearm to keep moving. "How did you know where to find me, though?" he asked.
"I-I just figured you might have been taken back to the house." She didn't tell him about AJ and risk looking like a lunatic.
"Thank you for coming back for me, Belle. You're a real friend." He said and she simply nodded.
She was curious about the dead beast. She looked back at it and wondered why and how someone would even create such a vile looking creature out of human and animal parts. They had a real life Dr. Frankenstein in Morgana.
"What, you guys are just going to walk away without saying thanking me?" a voice came from behind them.
Belle thought they were the only ones in the woods...
