After our encounter with Katsuragi, I decided to pay Horikita a visit.

I didn't know her room number, though, so I asked Kushida about it.

After getting the room number, I made my way to the upper floor to visit her. I knocked on her door.

Me: Horikita.

No response. I knocked again.

Me: It's (L/N).

Still the same. Well, I guess she was asleep.

When I was about to leave, the door opened a bit, revealing Horikita who was in her school uniform but without the blazer.

Horikita: What?

Me: I'm checking up on you.

Horikita: I'm fine. I was just reading my book. But what's the reason you wanted to check up on me?

Me: I have a promise to keep.

Horikita: I see. Don't worry, I can take care of myself. Thanks for the concerns, though.

Me: You welcome...?

Her tone is different.

Horikita: Well, if there's nothing else, I'll see you later, (L/N)-kun.

Me: Yeah, see ya.

She closed the door.

Me: I thought she was gonna give me some snarky comment... Huh, what's wrong with you, Horikita?

I left the room and headed towards my room. It was on the different floor so it's gonna take some time to arrive there.

When I arrived, I saw Hirata was about to knock on my door but noticed me.

Hirata: Oh, (L/N)-kun. I was searching for you.

Me: Hmm?

Hirata: Are you busy right now?

Me: No, why?

Hirata: I'm about to hang out with Karuizawa-san and the gang. Want to tag along?

Me: Karuizawa?

I thought for a moment.

Me: I'll pass. I'm not especially close to them.

Hirata: It's a good chance to get to know them, then!

Me: Seriously, what is it that you want?

We stared at each other without talking.

Hirata: (L/N)-kun...

Me: Hmm?

Hirata: The truth is, there's something I wanted your help with.

Me: Help?

Hirata: Yeah. Could you help serve as an intermediary between Horikita-san and me? I think that if we want to unite Class D, she'll be an integral player.
