Chapter 20 ~ Just leave me alone ~

I yawn as I open the office door, to my surprise it's empty.

I just shrug it off, it's none of my concern why Childe isn't here yet.

I sit at my desk and open my laptop. It's about 9:30am I was lucky enough to have a late start, which I found quite weird because that never usually happens.

oh well better for me.

As I'm typing away I hear a knock on the door, I instinctively look over to Childe's desk. Quickly realising that I'm alone the office.

I sigh.

"Come in" I eventually say, the door then opens.

"Ah hey y/n" I hear a soothing voice greet me.

"Hey Touma" I smile as I greet him.

I decide not to think about me and Kaori's previous conversation for now, I'll keep an eye out for Touma but I don't mind being friends with him.

I thought to myself as I held my smile.

"Just the person I was looking for" he says as he gives me a charming smile

"O-oh really?" I ask slightly off guard.

"Ahaha yes really" he laughs as he comes closer to my desk.

He leans forward on my desk on his arms and looks directly at me.

"I need to talk to you about something and I was wondering if tomorrow after work is good for you?" He asked politely.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Oh no, nothing serious just a few things" he said explaining himself after seeing my confused expression.

I wouldn't mind going, I thought. Though I should definitely be weary but there's no harm on going with him.

"Yea-"'I got cut off by an annoyingly familiar voice.

"She's not available to see you, especially not alone." I look way as I follow the source of the familiar voice.

I kept my expression blank as my eyes were met with Childe.

He was just standing there behind Touma and he looked annoyed.

"Ah Mr Childe, nice to see you too" Touma says sarcastically.

"Is there something else you need?" Childe ignored his sarcasm and monotonously asked.

Touma looks in my direction and sighs.

"Not really" he says.

"Then get back to work" Childe demands as he gives a scary look.

Even Touma faltered slightly then he smiled at me and walked out.

"You didn't need to do that you know" I mumble as I look back at my laptop and start typing again.

"I told you to keep your distance from him" he says as he sighs and closes the office door.

"It's not like I'm going up to him, he came to me" I reply in an attempt to defend myself.

But why am I even trying to prove myself? I've done nothing wrong. If I want to talk to Touma then I can, I don't see a problem.

I can choose what to get myself into.

"But I'd prefer if you stay out of my business" I added and looked up at him.

He looked at me taken aback slightly.

"I'm just trying to help" he says softly

"Well don't worry about me" I say in a calm tone.
