The cold wind scratched your face with its claws once outside making you squint your eyes and nuzzle deeper into the scarf you made yourself a few years back.Lazy rays of sun peeked through the gray clouds covering the are surrounding the pizzeria in pastel orange and yellow splotches of color. It was almost March but still it was really cold.Unusually cold. The once white and crisp snow turned into a muddy mess on the ground making the atmosphere even more gloomy. The trees moved its branches slowly almost as if it were clawing its way towards the sky.You shrugged as another blow of cold wind flew past you like a wild animal. You had that bad feeling in your gut still. It was telling you that it wasn't nearly the end of the story. You swallowed hard trying to make that awful lump in your throat disappear. The bitter taste of bile still lingered on your tongue making want to vomit. The flashing image of the rotten corpse, the reeking smell of death stuck to you like a gum sticks to one's shoe. You stuck both of your hands into the pockets of your coat desperately trying to warm them up even a little bit.You made your way to the bus stop staring blankly into one spot under your feet.At this point it was something that you could do with eyes closed. At least you didn't have to stay the night and try to survive the attacks of what felt like possessed robots.Let alone the hallucinations of the children taunting you and slowly making you lose your sanity. And the guards didn't really help with the whole thing. You haven't really spoke to Mike,Scott,Fritz,Jeremy,Chris and Vincent.Even though you and Grape worked together that day you didn't really set any boundaries between the two of you.And knowing the chaotic nature of the purple guy you never knew what and when to expect from him.The bus arrived pulling you out of your thoughts by the loud opening of its doors. You hopped in paying with your card.
Taking a seat next to the window you plugged in your earbuds and stared off into the passing distance. The stillness of the moment didn't last long though. You felt slight tapping on your shoulder and turned around to be faced with a familiar mischievous smile.Anastasia giggled suiting herself next to you and taking one ear bud out.
-Well how small is this world,huh?-She smiled wrapping her arm around your shoulder.
-Heeey~-You were so happy to see her, even happier than when you were at the party.-It sure is,it sure is!I'm so sorry I didn't call you!-You made puppy dog eyes to which she laughed and leaned in to leave a quick kiss on your cheek.
-It's fine, don't worry about~-She nodded.-I wasn't even hoping you would to be honest.
-Why!?-You blurted out immediately covering you mouth and apologizing to other passengers.-I'm sorry, but why?You thought I'm THAT kind of person, didn't you?-You furrowed your brows taking her hand in yours. She only smiled in response to your question as the bus made its stop at another place.
-You know,Fritz is my good friend and to be honest with you:you weren't the first one for me to have such a one night stand with at one of his parties.-She shrugged her shoulders quite embarrassed, her cheecks turning a slight shade of pink.-It's a normal thing to have a fling sometimes.-She giggled.
-Still I'm sorry.I promised and didn't keep my word. How can I make it up to you?-You made a cute face, looking into her green eyes.
-You sure can take me out on a date sometime~-She nudged you a bit playfully.
-What about Friday night?-You asked, completely forgetting that you work night shift.
-Sounds good to me!-She cheered as she leaned in for another kiss, this time leaving a quick one on your lips.-Alrighty,gotta go,that's my stop!-She nodded at the doors opening at the stop right before yours.Your eyes widened in surprise as she left you in your seat waving to you as the bus closed its doors and started moving towards your desired destination. You lived so close to each other and never really crossed paths. You got snatched out of your train of thought once again but now because you had to get out fast not to miss your stop.Hopping off of the bus you felt a smile crippling on your face. Finally the life was getting together.Even though that kind of contradicted what happened earlier. But good things always manage to overshadow something bad. You've been warned on the first by Scott anyway. It was too late to complain or regret anything.Smiling widely you entered your home and found it oddly silent. You looked around and called out carefully:
-Mum?-No answer followed. You shrugged your shoulders and let out a sigh.Well, guess she's just at work.Like any other NORMAL adult would be.You dropped your bag to the floor and took off your coat letting it dangle on the hook somewhere in the hallway.Walking into the living room you plopped yourself on the couch trowing your hands behind its back and doing a so-called "man spread",your head thrown back as well, just staring at the ceiling. You felt your back and neck cracking a bit and so you arched your spine a bit to crack more.A loud noise of your bones filled the room for a split second. It felt nice.It finally let you get relaxed. You sat like that for a few minutes just clearing your head.Your phone buzzed, making you turn your head towards it reluctantly. The screen lit up for a few seconds but you couldn't make out what was written on it.The only thing that you saw was the picture of the group chat and you assumed that it was the "5 guards and one janitor" chat. You grunted getting up from your comfortable position an reaching for the phone.Another grunt escaped your lips as the screen turned black and the phone died. You finally got up, lazily taking off your uniform by slowly unbuttoning your shirt and throwing it somewhere on the floor. You took off your belt from the oversized pants and they instantly dropped to the floor leaving you standing in your little tank top that you wore underneath and underpants. You sighed again annoyed and collected the pieces of clothing throwing it in the bathroom to later hopefully wash them.Especially after touching those filthy old things from the older location. No wonder everything stank there. The thought of the dead body now didn't seem that disturbing.Strangely enough,it even caused you to smirk to yourself.Everything just seemed like a crazy fever dream but the only thing you couldn't wake up from it.The guys were right. That place really fucked you up.And in such a short period of time! You shook off all the bad thoughts focusing on what you could do in the meantime.Laundry, clean your room, cook something...No, cooking definitely is a bad idea. You remembered that you haven't cooked anything more complex than a small omelet in years.Welp, guess you'll have to order something or just fast until your mum comes home from work. While thinking you got to your room to grab some nice clean and fresh clothing. You grabbed some grey sweatpants and decided that it would be okay to just stay in the tank top.
Back in the kitchen you grabbed your favorite black cup and made some extra bitter coffee. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled both kitchen and the living room following your every step. The hot black substance touched your lips as you took a careful sip.You nearly dropped the cup as the liquid burned on your lips making you hiss like a snake.
-Fuck...-You cussed as you noticed a coffee stain on your pants.-That's my luck I guess...-You grabbed a napkin trying to get the stain lighter, which eventually happened but now those pants were ruined for sure. You put the cup down on a coffee table and checked your phone which was now charging on the couch. As you looked at it the screen turned on showing the logo of the company that produced it. A little "Finally!" whisper left your lips as you unlocked it and scrolled through the messages.
