sorry it took so long i spent a while planning how i want to story to progress, and this chapter i struggled with for no reason

facts u should know mentioned in this chapter:

Taka died in the 1940s.

Taka doesnt see anyones facial features, just blurred faces. Once summoned, he can see peoples facial features. Think Shoyas POV from A Silent Voice!

Floating.

Floating has two meanings.

Buoyant or suspended in water or air.

Not settled permanently: fluctuating or variable.

Taka has been floating for a while. Just... there.

Useless.

Floating in the Math's classroom as he watches a girl called Sayaka sneaks on her phone to text her bandmates.

Floating on the roof as another reserve course student considers taking their life. He wishes he could do something. But they need to summon him first.

Floating as everyone lives their lives, while he's stuck in time.

Looking at everyone's blurred out faces, hoping, praying, someone needs him. He needs to be useful.

You don't have a purpose if you can't be useful.

He will be useful, even when he shuts down and even something as simple as talking becomes impossible.

You're such a disappointment.

Time seems different with Taka. Slower. Quicker. There. Then not.

Sometimes it passes so quickly, it's like the morning announcement and the nighttime announcement happened a minute in between each other.

Sometimes, it's so agonizingly slow, Taka resorts to pranking other students...

Like some sort of poltergeist!

Sometimes it's a simple trip, easily mistakable for a regular trip on your feet... sometimes it's taking the art student's digital pencil.

Sometimes he steals homework. Who's going to know it was him? There isn't an ultimate medium.
