3rd Person Pov
It was getting to him. He needed the drugs, however he physically couldn't bring himself to move his hand to grab it, the pill bottle had been placed on the table to the side of him, taunting him. Alex sat on the far end of the couch, with his father staring at him, he felt bad for not telling him whenever he'd run off, but he figured it was better of him not to know.
His father didn't know what to feel, a part of him was still grieving his 'death' and another much smaller part wanted him to be dead, he felt like he was going crazy and he needed answers. Police Chief Powel and Officer Callahan sat and stared into space for a moment, with all the other parents but the Wheelers having unreadable expressions.
"So lets just uh...address the Elephant in the room..." Officer Callahan said, referring to Alex, who was nervously bouncing his leg.
"Right yes um...Alex...how...how are you?" Chief Powel asked.
"Fine" Alex responded, his head pounding.
"That's...that's good to hear. I'm gonna phrase this bit the nicest way I can...how are you alive?" Chief Powel asked.
"...You wouldn't believe me" Alex slightly chuckled.
"Try us, I-I mean we've heard a few crazy stories this past few days" Officer Callahan tried to lighten the mood.
"Fine...I didn't die in a fire I was teleported to Russia when a Laser beam device exploded, me and Hopper-" Alex said but was cut off by Powel.
"Wait Hopper?" Chief Powel asked, but Alex ignored him.
"Me and Hopper were stuck in a Russian labour camp for a few months, me and him escaped and I made my way back here, Hopper's still in Russia. I come back-" Alex explains again but was cut off by Callahan.
"Woah woah slow down" Callahan stopped him, but Alex only grew angrier.
"I COME BACK!..." Alex yelled, not even Max's hand gripping his tightly was enough to calm him down. "To see a dream wizard would've killed my girlfriend if not for my singing, I cant go back to my real life, my father didn't know I was alive until two minutes ago, I forced myself to stop taking drugs that helped me control my emotions because I was so depressed at the camp. And better yet, I don't know how many days me, Max or my friends have left and you are doing nothing about it!"
The room sat there in silence, Alex's leg bouncing harder, like he was trying to shake off his own leg, Powel and Callahan looked to each other confused before turning back to Alex.
"Alright...now what were you doing at the lake?" Powel asked the others, Alex was outraged at the change of subjects but bit his finger to stop him from screaming.
"We...we were just going for a walk" Max stuttered nervously.
"A walk...at nine PM?" Callahan said in an accusatory tone, their grating voices made Alex feel like his brain was bleeding.
"To the lake...take a little swim...little night swim" Dustin squeaked, his voice grating Alex's ears.
"Dusty...someone was just murdered there" Dustin's mother whined.
"Yeah we...didn't realise it until we got there" Dustin explained.
"That's why we didn't swim" Lucas quickly jumped in.
"And Nancy, was she with you at this night swim?" Mrs Wheeler asked.
"Yes" Dustin said.
"No" Max said at the same time.
"We're not sure..." Lucas admitted.
"She was there...and then she left" Dustin said.
"That's when you guys came!" Lucas said someone happily.
