Taylor pov
A few minutes later, I turned onto my back and wiped smeared mascara away. I don’t know why I was so emotional, it’s kind of like if you don’t see your family for 9 years and you’re finally going to be reunited with them. Though these people were not my family, far from it. Half of me wanted to avoid the corporation at all costs and the other half was really curious and willing to forgive and forget. That side is fucked up. I just won’t let them in. I went into the bathroom and cleaned up a bit. Gotta look presentable for my creators! Note the sarcasm. I brushed through my wild hair and redid my makeup. My trench coat was still on and it wasn’t going anywhere now. I sat on my bed, thinking, until I heard a knock on the door. I smiled sincerely and went up to the intercom. “Who is it?” I asked in a fake cheery tone. I waited for a response. “This is the Corporation.” A man said on the other side of the intercom. “Oh. Okay. Fuck you.” I dropped the cheery act as I was generally pissed. “It’s someone’s time of the month.” I heard a deep voice, unlike the other one reply. “Who the hell are you?!” I shouted. “I’m Harry, hello. You have a lovely door.” Harry said, sarcasm prominent in his tone. Now I was completely pissed. “I know.” I replied in an equally sarcastic tone. “Taylor, will you open the door for us?” The man from before intervened. “Sure.” I replied and pressed a button. The door swung open, but my security system was still in their way. The man cleared his throat. “Taylor, can you let us in? Please?” The man asked. “And would you please enlighten me with the reasons as to why I should do as you say?” I brought a chair up and sat down. “Taylor, by the orders of the Corporation, you will have to let us in. Now.” He said in a serious tone. He was trying to intimidate me, it didn’t work back then, it’s not working now. “Umm…no.” I pressed a button so that I could hear their conversations off the intercom. I pressed another button, the screen flickered a few times before I saw about 10 people crammed into the small space between my apartment door and first level of my security system. “I was expecting that.” I saw a curly, brown haired boy lean close to the intercom, his voice matched the Harry guy. Harry was standing next to a boy with a black quiff, they both were wearing all black and were bulky, in a strength sort of way. There were a few people in white lab coats then a boy with very pale skin and a pretty fantastic poker face. He wore light clothing and a black leather jacket. Next to him were more people in suits. The last boy had short brown hair and slightly darker skin than Poker Face, but not as dark as Quiff Boy. I decided to call him Brown Eyes, since he had…brown eyes. I’m not good with nicknames. Harry pointed to the camera in their room. “Hey look! There’s a camera. And microphones.” He smiled and waved at the camera. “Why are you so talkative all of the sudden?” Quiff Boy whispered to Harry. He shrugged. “Well I can see you’re not going to open the door anytime soon so…Zayn!” Harry gestured to Quiff Boy, who I’m guessing is Zayn. Zayn knelt down next to the lock on the door and pulled out a few tools. I scrunched my eyebrows together. Even if he did pick the lock successfully, there was still another system in their way. “Good luck with that.” I muttered into the mic. It took Zayn only 6 tries to pick the lock. Harry put his arms up in victory, but lowered them when he saw another door. My eyes widened. This had never happened before. Time for me to upgrade my security system to Zayn-proof. “Who are you?” I asked curiously into the intercom. “Well I’m Harry, but you already knew that, this is Zayn. Those are a bunch of scientists and I think that’s Louis,” Harry pointed to Poker Face “more scientists and Liam.” Liam was apparently Brown Eyes. “I know how to open it.” Louis suddenly said and pushed his way through to my system. I stared puzzled at the screen as Louis positioned his hand correctly to make it look like mine and tapped in the code. The door unlocked and Harry turned the knob. Ten people walked into my apartment. “Oh, hello Taylor. Quite a security system you‘ve got there.” Harry smirked and held out his hand. I glared at his hand and back to his face. Harry pulled his hand back and smiled like an idiot. I couldn’t exactly put my finger on what these boys were, I hadn’t really seen many other races. “Taylor. Hello, I am Dr. Wardman of the Scientific…(a bunch of words I don’t know)…Corporation.” I nodded at him and stood up. “Yeah, yeah. Who are these boys? Like, races.” Dr. Wardman cleared his throat and spoke. “Do you really need to know that?” I smiled sincerely. “Yes.” He pointed to Liam. “This is Liam, a werewolf. Louis is a vampire.” I scrunched my eyebrows together as he lingered on Harry and Zayn. “And Harry and Zayn are…genetic mutants.” I glared at the three of them as my anger level rose about 10 notches. “Out. Get out of my apartment right now.” I gestured towards the system. Harry’s face fell and a confused look took form. I knew there was something weird about them. “Taylor, calm down. No one is going anywhere.” Dr. Wardman spoke. “You’re right! I am not going anywhere! Especially nowhere with them.” I emphasized ‘them‘. Harry looked at the floor sadly as Zayn just stood still. I felt a pang of guilt, but there were no genetic mutants ever allowed in my home. “Calm down, Tayl-” I cut Dr. Wardman off. “No! I will not calm down! This is ridiculous! After 9 years of absolutely no contact at all you think you can just waltz into my home and think that I will willingly return to that fucking laboratory!” I fumed at them all. The men in suits stepped between me, Harry and Zayn. I scoffed. Louis and Liam stood on the side watching this go down. “Taylor. All we are asking is that you come with us to gather up the rest of races then back to the Corporation. Absolutely no tests will be done and you don’t have to even look at anyone else the whole time.” Dr. Wardman explained to me. I started to think of the pros and cons of returning. There were tons of cons, but one pro entered my mind. “How long?” I simply asked. “What do you mean?” Dr. Wardman looked at me, puzzled. “How long will I have to stay.” He racked his brain for an answer. “We’re not sure. Could be a few weeks, could be a few years.” I rolled my eyes. “Fine. But if this thing lasts longer than 8 months I’m leaving and no one can stop me.” I shoved my way through the scientists to grab my stuff. “A room is all ready for you back at the Corporation with everything you will need. We might need to also get you a new phone and…alarm clock?” I glanced at the pile of broken plastic and electrical mechanisms. I shrugged my shoulders. On my way out I glared at Harry and Zayn. “Where are we off to next?” I asked. “Down the hall.” Dr. Wardman replied. I whipped my head around to look at him. “Huh?” I said as they walked off. I caught up to the Dr. “What do you mean ‘down the hall?’” I asked, completely confused. “There is another mutant in this building. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d recognize him, but you obviously haven’t met.” Wardman replied, exasperated. We walked down the hall and stopped at the last door on the left. Wardman knocked, I stood next to him, curious to see who was behind it. “Wait!” I recognized the voice, but I just couldn’t put my finger on who it was exactly. Definitely a guy. “Who is it?” The familiar voice asked from behind the door. “This is the Corporation, please open the door.” Wardman replied sternly. He obviously didn’t want to go through another situation like mine again. “Ha. I’m not opening that door.” He scoffed. Oh my god this is bugging me so bad. Who is it?! “Justin, please open the door. We will cause you absolutely no harm whatsoever. We only have to talk.” Wardman explained. Justin? I don’t know any Justins. “You’re hilarious, man.” Justin, apparently, replied. Seems we have the same sarcastic taste. “Justin. Just let us in, or we will have to do it ourselves.” Wardman warned. “You break down that door, you’re paying for it.” Justin seemed like he was closer to the door. Wardman was getting antsy. “Why don’t you just text me? I don’t see any point in interacting with you guys now, it certainly didn’t matter for 9 years.” Justin offered sarcastically. “Justin. Open the door now.” Wardman’s face was getting red and his teeth were clenched. I failed at stifling a laugh, he glared at me. Someone is used to getting his way. “Just because I don’t want you to explode.” Justin replied. The door swung open. I recognized the familiar face. “Mr. Bieber!” I gasped. That isn’t something you should shout in front of 10 people who already think you’ve lost it. “Swifty!” Mr. Bieber, or should I say Justin, shouted back. “Why are you with them?” He asked, clearly confused. “They’re taking me against my will back to the Corporation. I didn’t know you had contact with them.” I explained. “I didn’t for 9 years.” Justin glared at a now pale faced Dr. Wardman. “Me neither.” I followed his gaze. “Well it’s great that you two know each other, but we really need to get going.” Wardman rushed. Justin crossed his arms. “Uh, I’m not going anywhere before I get an acceptable explanation as to where I’m going and why.” Justin scoffed. Lot’s of scoffing going on here. “Justin, please cooperate with us an-” Dr. Wardman was cut off by Justin. “Oh, I am cooperating! Though I’d rather not just pack up and go with you people to some place I don’t even know. So please, enlighten me with the situation at hand, Dr. Wardman.” He remarked. I stifled a laugh. This boy sure is witty. “Justin. We can’t give you much information now, as we’d like to have everyone in one room for that.” I don’t think he was finished, but I saw this as an opportunity to give my two sense on the subject. “Oh, sure. Like the vampires and the vampire hunters are going to be in the same room as one another. That’ll work out greatly.” I retorted. I thought I saw Louis’ eyes shift away for a second, but I wasn’t very sure. “Ms. Swift! Will you please!” Dr. Wardman shouted at me. I balled my fists in rage. “No! I don’t have to be here! I don’t want to be here! If you guys think you can just take us all back after 9 years of nothing then you are utterly and completely fucking wrong!” I yelled in his face. I shoved past security, making my way back to my apartment. One of the guards grasped my wrist. I swung back around and planted my foot straight on his chest. He fell backward and writhed in pain on the floor. I heard a door slam shut, I’m guessing it was Justin’s. “Don’t even TRY to come and get me again!” I screamed down the hall and slammed my apartment door. I unlocked my security system and fell face first on my bed. I cried my eyes out for a few minutes, until I heard shouting down the hall. I guessed it was Justin and them fighting. The shouting stopped after a few more minutes. I fell into a deep sleep, but woke up in a very different environment. My eyes shot open and I tried to sit up, but was unable to move. I pulled on my restraints, but was unsuccessful. I came to my senses and used my strength to rip them off of the table-gurney thing I was lying on. They were still attached to my wrists, but I was able to sit up. They should think about stronger restraints. I looked around me. There was someone on a similar table-gurney thing a few feet away. I stood up in the small space, my head almost hitting the ceiling. I leaned closer and recognized the face. Justin? What were we doing here? I shook him by the shoulders. “Justin. Justin!” I whisper-yelled. He stirred, but didn’t awaken. I lightly hit him on the top of his head. “Justin!” He came to and his eyes shot open. “Taylor? Where are we?” He looked frantic. “Calm down, but I don’t know where we are. Here.” I said as I undid his restraints. Justin stood up next to me as we searched the room for a way out. There was a door to the left of us. The room felt stationary, so if we were in a vehicle it seems we haven’t moved yet. I followed Justin to the door and he jiggled the knob. “Locked. No problem.” Justin said and kicked down the door. We saw four seats and a steering wheel and other car-like features. “We’re in…a van?” I muttered, confused. I led Justin to the car door and opened it. We stepped out and looked around. “You’re awake.” I heard a familiar voice say. I whipped my head around and saw Dr. Wardman a few feet away. Behind him were a few scientists, Louis, Liam, Zayn and Harry. “Where are we?” I demanded. “Outside the apartment complex. You two were out for a while.” I was confused by his words. “What did you do to us?!” Justin stepped in. “We had to sedate you in order to have some cooperation.” My mouth dropped open. Why am I so surprised? I could’ve guessed this from them. “Now we’re waiting for the jet to take us to our next destination.” Dr. Wardman said.
