I stood next to Taylor as we walked up to the next building, it was a school. More like a University, but in America. I wonder what we're doing here. "Okay, stay close to us and in a single file line. Make no eye contact with anyone, and cover up your wings, claws, fangs, arms, whatever." Wardman stated in a controlling tone. Taylor and I made sure our jackets were tight while Justin and Liam put on their gloves. A few guards opened the doors and we walked in. Most of the scientists stayed in the free candy van (that's what Taylor and I call it), Wardman told us to stay there too, but when you've been raised for 10 years in a scientific laboratory then they drop you off in the middle of nowhere, you've got to be a bit paranoid. Louis stood on my left, mouth permanently closed it seemed, arms crossed, and that wicked poker face. Wardman sighed, probably wishing we had stayed in the car. Too bad. There was no one in the halls. I spoke too soon. A moment after students came rushing out of the huge rooms, right and left. Wardman glanced back at us. We all got many different looks, a few whistled at Taylor, Most were looking at Harry and Zayn, I can tell why. We all walked a bit faster and we finally reached what looked like the main office. Wardman carefully opened the door. We filed in and the door was shut behind us- and locked. I don't do well in small spaces, especially knowing that there is no way out, other than windows. I felt the others tense too. I looked around, the room was empty except for a single girl sitting in one of the small chairs. She wore a headband and a colorful skirt. Was she another race that I was not aware of? The seven of us leant up against a wall. I realized the guards had stayed outside and were blocking the door. I could see their huge bodies through the windows. There really is no way out. "Terri! Terri, I am Dr. Wardman of The Corporation." He held out his hand and she took it. I was surprised, is she actually willing to go? "Hello Dr. Wardman," She looked around him to us, "I'm Terri." Wardman remembered his manners. "Oh, yes! Let me introduce you." He pointed to each of us individually, "this here is Liam, Justin, Louis, Taylor, Niall," I nodded like the rest of us, "Zayn and Harry." Harry smiled at Terri. "Hello, love." Zayn nudged him and he piped down. Cheeky chap. "So, Terri, I understand you have been informed on the subject, would you like to come with us?" Wardman asked hopefully. "I would be honored." I wasn't the only one confused right then. Did she just agree to go with them?

I tried to remain as quiet as possible, I was never the type to love attention. And right now, all I wanted to do was melt into the walls and disappear forever. But, according to the Corporation, that isn't possible. I beg to differ. As soon as I heard that girl, Terri I think her name is, agree to going, I nearly cocked an eyebrow. I tried to read her mind, see what the hell is going on in there, but I couldn't get through. What did they do to her? Why does she look so normal? I've never seen her race before. Why can't I get into her mind? Did they brainwash her? I bet. I just wanted to get out of here. And by the way Niall is acting, he does too. Thankfully, someone read my mind because the door was unlocked and the guards moved away. Niall grabbed Taylor's hand and they were the first out. He seemed relieved to be out of there. Harry had been eyeing Taylor a lot, I had a bad feeling about him. We got into the car, Terri sat between Taylor and I. Taylor didn't seem too thrilled about that. Yeah, Terri was pretty, but she seemed brainwashed and...just weird. I decided to stay away from her. We drove to a field, where there was a large jet waiting. We boarded and I took a dark corner seat. We went from Pennsylvania to California in just a bit. Dr. Wardman and the other scientists looked about ready to hurl. Were we really going that fast? It didn't feel like it. And the other mutants looked fine. Maybe it was just us. It was getting dark. We soon landed in Pasadena. I've never been to California, it was pleasantly warm here. "Louis, I would like you to stay in the car for this one." Dr. Wardman said wearily. I nodded, but I couldn't imagine why he'd want me to stay and let the others go. Dr. Wardman left with the others before I could get a glimpse into his thoughts. After a few minutes I saw the group come out of the large mansion, but there were no new beings with them. Not that I could tell at least. I could hear outside of the car and Taylor was yelling at Wardman. "You know this is crazy right? You can't just put him in danger like that!" She scolded. Putting who in danger? Wardman turned to her, "Taylor, just be quiet, we know what we are doing." She rolled her eyes. "You people are ridiculous." They boarded and I there was a tense feeling prominent in the air. Taylor slammed the door, all eyes were on me though. I tried to read their minds, but all I could get were views of me, and worried, angered even, feelings on top of that. Never had I been unable to properly read someone's mind before. But of course, these are mutants we're talking about. And Wardman was shielded by the back of his seat. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
