Welcome back my children, this is mostly from Alex's perspective because I think he deserves some attention. This chapter is chaotic but it is what it is 🫰
She's the kind of girl who puts you down
When friends are there, you feel a fool
When you say she's looking good
She acts as if it's understood, she's cool~~~
Alex Turner had been raised by his mother, Penny, and his father, David, to use his brain. They had told him to be logical. To treat other people with kindness, and they'll give it back in return. That had worked for Alex most of his life. Nobody had ever been too mean to him because he was pleasant to everyone. Even when people didn't deserve it. Until yesterday.
He wasn't one to let people get under his skin, until Faye. Yeah, most people sucked. But he'd had enough hope as well as respect for her, to be disappointed. It left him with anger, and pettiness. Which wasn't a good look on anyone.
Like mentioned, the morning classes after the 100 day party had been canceled. So Alex's first lesson of the day was instead history, which he had been kicked out of for chatting with his friends. Slightly embarrassing. Today he was joining the other class instead, after seeing the guidance counselor for a chat. It consisted mostly of the effect on his grade if this misbehavior were to continue.
On the other side of the building, class was starting. Not for everyone though, since when fifteen minutes into history class had passed, Faye walked in to find a filled classroom staring down at their textbooks. She spotted two open seats by the windows and sat down closest to the wall. It seemed like it would be a quiet hour, everyone still being hungover from the night before, until the door opened just a few minutes later.
Alex. Of course, he was kicked out of the other class. He went to the teacher and handed him a sheet of paper. They exchanged a few quiet words and the teacher then pointed the chair next to Faye. Alex followed his gesture and their eyes met. Alex froze for a second and swallowed hard.
Faye immediately looked down at her notebook and started doodling in order to ignore him, but she still saw how he hesitantly came and sat down next to her in her peripherals.
Now they shared a table. Great. Not terribly uncomfortable at all.
They both ended up sitting there in silence, trying not to look up at the other enough for them to notice. Not wanting to show the other just how uncomfortable they really were. And it wasn't easy being unbothered with how they had ended things the night before. Especially Faye swearing to leave Alex alone.
But Alex wasn't surprised with what had happened, or he shouldn't be at least. He had gone to school with her long enough to know that she probably was who everyone said she was.
The second the clock rang he hurried out as Faye sat down for a few seconds to let him get further away from her before going home.
When she entered the corridor someone walked past her.
"Oi, sick move throwing a beer at Turner, vampire lass!"
"Fuck off Mike!"
As Alex walked home with his mates he though about how Faye was being bratty with the whole ignoring him thing. Yesterday he had just been returning the same energy he got from her, because he was getting bored of being nice when she was mean. So, she got a taste of her own medicine, and he had to admit that he liked seeing her like this. Well, he didn't like the awkward silences but he liked seeing her stressed. That was the point of what he said to her at the party. Maybe she would realize how she herself treated other people and get some kind of wake-up call.
