This is so short because I just wanted to update this book. It had a second half but I haven't finished that so this is more like a bonus chapter for the last one :)

She left before the lights came on
Because they didn't want to ruin
What it was that was brewing

... What now?

The two of them had stayed in that position for a few seconds. It felt like minutes. Faye didn't say anything but after a moment she found some energy to move, and rolled onto her back. Alex also moved down and laid his head against the pillow after getting rid of the condom and putting on his boxers. Faye was cold when she was out of his embrace and she felt exposed so she pulled the covers over her body, and Alex let it sit by his hips. They stared at the ceiling for a minute as the record on the player became silent. Alex reached for a pack of cigarettes from his table and Faye watched him. Neither of them had said anything, but with the oxytocin levels in her body at the moment, it would have been almost difficult for it to feel uncomfortable. The room, and Faye, was just in an oddly calm state, considering how her and Alex's relationship had looked like up to this point. This wasn't like two people going on a date and ending up in the same bed. The reality of the situation had too much context  for her to process it at the moment. But it was hard to see the bad side of what had just happened, when it had felt so good.

"And you made me smoke out the open window in the middle of the night..." Faye smirked when Alex lit his cigarette, and squinted at him. "I could've died."

"You asked if you could I just didn't correct you," he chuckled. Faye giggled and they fell silent as she watched him blow clouds into his room. Alex was pleased that she had said something lighthearted, instead of wanting to talk about what had happened, or getting up to leave. It wouldn't have surprised him if she did, but then again he had never really been able to guess her next move. He certainly hadn't seen her climbing onto his lap and kissing him coming.

If he had to guess, he would've thought that the second she came to her senses again she would've ran off and never spoken to him again. Maybe it was just the alcohol that caused her to stay. Maybe she was just tired. Maybe something else.

He wasn't even sure what he would've done if it wasn't his bed they were in. He might've ran off too.

"So who's the girl?" She asked.

"Huh?"

Faye glared at Alex, she thought he was playing dumb. Especially since he was blushing. She didn't understand why they would need to be shy after what they'd just done, especially what she'd just let him do for the first time. But it was a tiny bit fun to see him flustered at the same time.

"You don't have to be embarrassed. But I've never seen you with any of the girls at school or anything. So which one is it?"

"Uhm," he said and then chuckled a little as he tapped his smoke on his ashtray. "Did I tell you about London?" He asked and looked back to Faye.

"I think so... Last summer right?"

"Yeah, and you know, I had a childhood friend there. Her name's Johanna."

"Oh, so she was your girlfriend?"

Alex cleared his throat. He couldn't exactly just admit to sleeping with a friend to get better at sex.

"Summat like that, yeah. She was the only one I knew down there. It was just over the summer, though. Wasn't very serious."

"Alright. Well there you have it," Faye said and chuckled nervously. Alex didn't know what to do with the surprising flattery except blush and look away. That was the thing with her, her constant negativity made a compliment, if you could even call it that, mean so much more than it would from anybody else.
