Later that day when Rose had to leave everyone told her to come again and they had a fun time. When Rose and Rue were alone Rose told Rue “When I was on the tour I saw the line that came out of the wall. Next time I come can you show me what it does?” Rue said yes. “I’m glad you came over, Rose.” Rose smiled and was so excited that she didn’t notice that Rue wasn’t talking about her coming over as a friend. She also hadn’t noticed that earlier Rue hadn’t been shocked at all by Rose’s appearance.

Once Rose was out of sight from everyone but Rue she turned tiny again, got her stuff and went back home. When she got back it was almost dinner and Rose was excited to tell her mother how she got a new friend but she promised herself that she wouldn’t tell anyone about how she went to the human village.

Once she put her stuff down she ran to where she knew her mother would be. Once she found her mother and said hi and said that she had a wonderful time. Her mother was so excited her daughter was as happy as she was and when she got a friend she asked her what they did. She told her mother she ate lunch with the family and that they did so much more.

She noticed her mother looked very tired and asked her “What did you do all day?” Her mother paused for a moment as if deciding to tell the truth or not. Finally, she said “Oh, I was just doing all my Queen duties and they were a little bigger today.” Rose knew that was a lie and started to worry for her mother but instead smiled and said she was doing a good job. After dinner Rose went to bed and had a mix of bad and good dreams.

When she woke up the next day she put on a simple green dress with matching everything. When she went to breakfast she saw her mother but she didn’t look normal. She had dark bags under her eyes and she was still in her PJ dress. The whole time they were eating Rose was staring at her mom wondering why she looked so different.

After breakfast Rose asked the Queen “Why do you look so tired? And why are you still in your nightgown?” Her mother just stared at her and said nothing. Rose went up to her mom and asked her again this time in her ear and it was like the Queen just woke up. Rose went back to her seat and asked her the question again. She looked at her with wide eyes and said “I had to do something last night.” Before Rose responded the Queen let out a long snore. Rose blinked with amazement and started to wonder if she ever did that before.

After Rose made sure her mother wasn’t messing with her she asked one of the helpers to take her to her room and put her in her bed. Once they were gone Rose immediately thought of Rue. She then got a piece of paper, wrote a note on it, put a spell on it so when it got in the human mailbox it would grow, and hoped Rue would write her back.

After she wrote the note she went to the human mailbox and put it in, then went home and started drawing. She always liked to draw. She would draw everything. All types of drawings she would do, animation, cartoon, and much more. Today she was drawing her mother in her bed with the same PJ dress she had on that morning. She even captured the large bags under her eyes.

After a little, she asked if she got any mail. She saw a folded up piece of paper and knew it was from Rue. She got into her room before she opened it though. It said that she would love to go to the human park but she would have to sneak out and to meet her at 12:00. Rose looked at the time, it was already 11:30! Rose checked what she had on and fixed her hair. By the time she was done getting ready it was 11:55. She didn’t even wonder how the paper had gotten tiny enough.

Rose got her flying horse and went to a place where neither humans nor fairies came a lot, made herself big, and put the horse in one of her pockets. Then she walked a little bit and saw Rue on a picnic blanket. She waved at her and sat on the blanket with her. At first, they talked about fairies and humans and how they didn’t understand why they would go into war against each other instead of with each other and they ended with them talking about doing stuff like that more often. Then they both went home and promised to write to each other.
