Leviticus stared out the compound window as the last of the human race barely escaped into space with their lives. The Apollo XXXXI launched at five a.m. as most of the remaining zombie race slept after being awake all night partying. They were causing harmless mayhem among themselves, and happy humans were vacating planet Earth.

Security made sure no one got out of hand during celebrations.

There were no humans left on earth, and if there were, they'd be dead within hours or bitten to join the rest of Zombie kind.

According to the military report's left behind for Leviticus' reading pleasure, less the 100 thousand humans remained virus free.

Those 100 thousand women, men, and children were evacuated to Mars, or so Leviticus thought.

The humans were very careful not to document a route of where they were going or mention an exact location in the presence of any zombie.

But listening to secret whispers and chatter on the compound they felt Leviticus couldn't hear...he heard.

A week before their departure, Leviticus bit the doctor in charge of the viral study. She was the one who created the virus as a bio-weapon of war.

Leviticus recalled making the decision to infect her, if he his wife Psalm and the other vaccine participants had any chance at some sort of life beyond a brain of mush, the Doctor would be key.

If the humans were going to abandon their native Earth, they were not taking the person who started this whole mess with them.

She would be damned to this scorched, cursed living hell as they continued working on the cure to save Mother Earth or at least make it semi-inhabitable her life depended upon it.

The doctor screamed, kicked, and cried as her own staff dragged her off to an isolation chamber where she would join the other participants in the new anti-ZT vaccine trial run.

Leviticus and Psalm began treatment 24 hours after being bitten because he was top secret military. He was treated with the utmost respect and given top medical attention. No expense was spared by the government when it came to him.
