Raph obliged and put the smaller turtle down on the table that the smartest of the turtles used for nearly everything. Of course, Donnie was no novice. No no, in fact- he may have been one of the greatest yet. The purple banded turtle always kept his work station clean- especially when he had the feeling that it would be needed in the recent coming days.

The smaller turtle seemed to be ever so slightly taller than Michael- the more Raph looked at him. Though, it was a very hardly substantial. One of the main things that Raph did was estimate what kind of turtle this mysterious new mutant even was. Maybe it was because of his brother instincts- after all- he always had to fret over the taller of the Disaster Twins, Donatello.

Don, being a soft-shell turtle was always at risk. Especially when he was younger.

Raphael was a warrior (in training, but it was the thought that counts) but over all else- he was an older brother. An older brother who always fretted away at everything his siblings had done or gotten themselves into because in spite it all- they were all still just kids. Kids that were always in danger.

A frustration seemed to grow within the red banded brother. His large hands balled into fists and he could only think and ponder what kind of dangerous situations this stranger had been in. He didn't even know if they were friend or foe. All he did know was that the second he saw him- this turtle was in danger and that is what he acted on. Maybe he should be more ... apprehensive? More cautious? What if this was a new enemy and he had just lead this stranger to their home?

"Whoaaa, I didn't notice before. Look how cute his freckles are!" Michael was being the typical energized brother he always was. Being the youngest of the siblings- naturally there was a drive for the orange clad sibling to touch nearly everything he saw and make loud obnoxious remarks out of the blue.

Raph wouldn't have minded much, if it weren't for the fact that this stranger should continue resting. With a gentle pat on the arm, Raph nodded to Mikey, letting the arguably easily intrigued sibling know that he had seen what the other was talking about. At that, Mikey smiled and continued to watch in interest as Don cleansed himself of any dust, dirt and other particals that may have been all over himself. Small mumblings here and there about what he needed to do to start a wellness check.

Making sure not to catch Don in the midst of seemingly crucial moments- Raphael leaned up and away from the table- ensuring that he was out of the genius's light.

"Do you have any idea what kind of turtle he is, Don? He doesn't look like any of us..." Of course, the largest brother didn't want to sound discriminatory. He was curious for several reasons.

"He appears to be a..." Donnie brought his hand up to his chin. Tapping on the end of his face a few times, before raising one of his charming (yet questionably) large eyebrows. To be fair, Donnie was the only turtle who had eyebrows- because he always drew them on himself. Not that the brothers complained- it had been a long time since they had seen the taller disaster twin without them.

There was a silence among all of them, Leon was messing around with his weapons on the other end of the room- namely to MAYBE avoid hitting any of Don's equiptment. "Tick tock Don, the clock's runnin' ahead of youuuu." The slider turtle chuckled, before sticking out his tongue a little bit.

"Very funny, Leo." The tone of the softshell was dry. Unamused and concentrated. Looks like now was not the time for fun banter after all. What a buzzkill.

After Donnie had lightweight flipped over the strange turtle on the table, he wiped his hands a little bit, noting the slightest feeling of either static, or something grainy. Upon a closer look- it was fine-grained sand. Something that most places here in New York didn't seem to have. "Now that is odd..." he pinched his fingers together, before finally wiping off his hands on a nearby washcloth.

A couple more minutes of poking around and Don had gently set down the stranger- before putting his hands on his hips. "By the looks of it- he appears to be a Diamondback Terrapin Turtle" the genius stated, before bringing his more dominant hand up to his chin again in thought. "Hm..."

"Diamondback Terrapin? What are they like?" Mikey was the first to ask the questions, lightweight flopping his arms over the table where the stanger did not have the space taken up. "He looks so ... round..." Mike was more fascinated than anything. Though from an outside point of view- round could have sounded like an insult to anyone who did not know the orange banded box turtle so well. Mike had always had a fascination with other types of turtles. One of the things he always noted was how 'big' they were.

Though, Raphael did notice something substantial. This turtle looked like he has a little something that humans referred to ... Babyfat- was it?

"DIamondbacks are actually and endangered species, as far as I remember-" Donatello brought out a small device, before typing in the name of the turtle on it. "Yep, they are. So we have ourselves a lucky one here."

A few more minutes of somewhat aimless banter between the brothers ensued. Leon popping in with bad puns that got a chuckle here and a groan more often than not. Mikey asked questions as Don worked- though Raph did his est t keep the curious sibling from becoming overly animated during the process. Don was, of course, working on the stranger on the makeshift medical table.

"By the looks of it, there is no serious damage." Donnie pat the smaller turtle on the arm, before putting several things down on the table behind himself. "There is no issues with anything I see. Some scrapes and a couple of burn scars on his legs and arms."

"I wonder what happened..." Raph was the first one to ponder all sorts of scenarios. It's not like he was short on bad things happening mentally. He always came up with wild scenes in his mind, especially when his brothers were alone- or they were in danger.

It was an imaginitive power he really wish he didn't have.

Before any more loose thoughts could pool out of the aligator snapping turtles mind- there was a slight shifting from the terripin on the table. At first, the breathing was slow, and steady- but it started to quickly increase and became rapid. The breathes turned into choking.

Shamm shutters and chatters of teeth turned to obnoxious flailing.

"AAAAUGH!!!" the turtle on the table snapped up, screaming as he brought his arms up to his face and writhed his head around. All of the squirming and flailing caused the stranger to eventually fall on the ground. There was a harsh loud thump as his shell hit the ground first- before the sound of scraping as he scrambled back, cornering himself in the nearest wall.

"Whoa, whoa, calm down..!" Leon wasn't even joking at the moment. The blue banded turtle was trying to get the screaming stranger to settle down from a distance- caught off guard by the sheer amount of terror that the fellow turtle held.

The turtle in the corner of the room eventually couldn't scream anymore, seeming to quickly cause himself to lose his voice. the hands over the face of the stranger went down to his knees as he brought them closer to himself- large blue eyes peering up in shock and fright. It's like the stranger could hardly see them- truly. His purpils had shrunk and the blue eyes were wandering the room quickly- namely altering between looking at all of the brothers taring down at him.

Deep staggered breaths, and growing anxiety. That's all that could be felt from the fretting fellow.

"All of you, take a step back." a voice from the doorway of the room sounded. "He will likely not calm down, until we all give him some air. Back, back." a small tap of a cane as the boys' short father entered the room. For one of the few times that he had paid attention- Splinter looked completely serious. "Do I need to tell you boys again?"

Raph snapped out of his trance and stepped back- knowing full well his brothers were going to follow his lead.

If they were going to help this stranger calm down- perhaps this WAS the best first step...
