30: The beginning

"Flippy?"  She murmured under her breath in confusion, looking in every direction until her eyes landed on him.  "Wait you know him?" Splendid asked curiously, raising his eyebrow. "We've known each other for quite a while"  she mumbled while staring blankly at Flippy who ran towards them, panting heavily, he stopped in front of the bench and rested on his knees as he caught his breath, his hands resting on his knees, trying to calm his erratic heart beat.  "What're you doin' here?" She asked curiously while still keeping her gaze fixed on Flippy.  "I been meaning to ask you something-"   Before he could finish though Splendid cut him off.  "Well well well if it isn't the crazy wanted killer"  Splendid remarked in a cold tone. "Splendid..." "What's happening?"  Y/n questioned in an nervous tone before narrowing her eyes at the duo Flippy stood infront of Y/n protectively while facing Splendid, ready to attack should necessary. "I should of killed you if I known your going to mess with something that's not yours..."  He growled as he pulled out a knife from his boot.  "Wait!"  Y/n interrupted as she stood in the middle of the two males, trying desperately to defuse whatever situation was going on.  "Let's just leave, I promise nothing will happen!" She pleaded as she turned pleading eyes at the taller man.  "Stay out of this! This is something a male has to take care of" Splendid  ordered sternly as he glared menacingly at Flippy. "Please-" Before she could do anything else, she felt a pair of warm arms wrap around her waist and pull her close to a muscular chest. She could feel the pounding of his heartbeat on her cheek and she instinctively relaxed herself. "For a hero you have some shitty words when she trying to help stop this argument..." He muttered softly in a low husky voice while running his fingertips along the curves of her shoulders
