**𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝-𝚍𝚊𝚢**Rain poured down on the car window the entire way. The sky was gray and it looked like there was hell to pay up there and I was unsure If I was going to make it by car or if I was going to have to swim.
But when the car finally came to a stop I threw a wadded up amount of cash towards the driver and jumped out of the car and ran through the door that an older gentleman was holding open for me. I thanked him on the way up.
I ran up the stairs as fast as I could and read the number I had familiarized myself with online and knocked. There was no answer. So I knocked again. No answer. I kept knocking until a neighbor came out to tell me no one was home.
I thanked them and sat on the ground and waited.
"Josephine," a familiar voice said in front of me after a very long time of waiting
"Hey James," I smiled, but his face wore anything but a smile. He stormed passed me with an unreadable expression, as if I could read his body language. "Hello to you too," I followed him inside, closing the door behind me because I am polite. "It's great to see you. Love the view. Do you have a job? I mean the average monthly cost of an apartment in Brooklyn is about $2500. Are you getting social security checks? I mean you are technically 106 so does that factor in?"
"What are you doing here?" He snapped.
"Just wanted to say hello to my friend," I smiled, resting my arms on his kitchen counter. A weird feeling in my stomach. "Do I really need a reason?"
"I have a doctors appointment in—"
I checked my invisible watch. "-twenty two minutes, I know. We should probably leave in the next five minutes or we will be late. Dr. Christina Raynor called me earlier this morning, she let me know it will be a group session today,"
"Of course she did," he groaned. "Josephine I would like it if you left. I'd actually prefer it,"
"Not gonna happen, Barnes"
"Fine, then I'll go,"
He flung the door open and exited the room leaving me standing there all alone. "Why am i still standing here like an idiot?"I muttered to myself before walking after him. "James!"
Bucky held up his hand. "Its bucky and I don't want to talk,"
"But—"
"No. I'll see you in therapy Josie, we both know you need it,"
I opened my mouth to say something, anything back. But nothing came out.
My heart clenched as the elevator doors shut and only one thing ricocheted through my mind. He didn't want me here.

"So," Dr. Raynors voice sliced through the air like a knife. "Did you do what I talked about?"
