I had a bad dream that night. I don't remember it well, but it made me somewhat uncomfortable. I think he was in it. I'm glad I did not remember the details of it.
When I slowly opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Seungjun's black and red hair. I sighed in relief, letting go of the stress I must have accumulated that night.
It was morning. Delicate sunrays were seeping into our bedroom through the blinds, as we apparently forgot to shut them down completely. I tightened my grip around Seungjun and buried my face deep into the back of his neck as I started moving my head left and right. He loves snuggles. That must have woken him up, as I heard him quietly yawn and let out a lazy moan. He curled himself up, making himself even smaller. He became so tiny. I felt as if I was holding a little delicate puppy in my arms. I wanted to protect him so bad. More than I've ever wanted to.
He slowly turned around on his other side. We found each other face to face, our noses almost touching."Good morning, Hyojinie."
He said as he grabbed my face with both his hands, delicately squishing it. His eyes were still only halfway open, and they seemed even smaller as he was smiling widely. Nonetheless, they still had that spark I love so much. He let out a chuckle.
"Your hair is a mess... so cute..."
He moved his hand through my hair, trying to fix it, even though he knew it wouldn't help much.
Suddenly, he moved up a bit and put his chin on my head, hugging me tightly. My face found itself squished on his chest, but I wasn't complaining. I was able to hear his heartbeat. No, I could feel it. It was slightly more accelerated than normal, but its regular rhythm was somewhat calming."It's beating for you."
He calmly said, as if he had just read my mind. A short moment of silence endured as I let myself be hypnotized by his heart's repetitive beating.
"Hyojin... Thank you."
It was so hard to get out of bed that morning. Not because we wanted to rest more, but because we both did not want to let go of our embrace. I think something changed that night. It was comforting beyond human comprehension. I may not have noticed it immediately, but that night was definitely the trigger that ultimately led us to buy a double-sized bed a few months later.
But we had to get up and get ready soon. We agreed to meet Minkyun at Changyun's boutique at noon.
Luckily, we were still in time to have breakfast. Seungjun offered to make pancakes for both. He's not usually the one to cook, but "pancakes are easy enough" he said. I think he wanted to repay me for the cuddles. I was more than satisfied at that moment, but who am I to complain about someone cooking for me?
We put on some of our songs on the smart speaker and got to work. Seungjun wore an adorable apron and started preparing the pancake mix while I set the table. You're gonna love me
I'm gonna become your everything
You'll know once a little time passes
You're gonna, you're gonna, yeahAs he poured the pancake mix onto the pan, I approached him from behind and wrapped my arms around his waist. I must have surprised him because for a brief moment he contracted his whole body, but immediately let the tension go a second later. I really don't know what's gotten into me that day, why I was so touchy and all. I think I simply wanted to be near Seungjun in those dark times. I wanted to feel his presence. I wanted to reassure him, to comfort him. And to be completely honest, I needed comfort too, and being close to him definitely helped.
After a delicious breakfast, we got out and arrived at Changyun's shop in just under 10 minutes of walking. Having your own stylist's boutique near your house is more than convenient. Sometimes we feel like recording a cover for YouTube, so we simply go over to Changyun's, grab some cool outfits, go back home and record, as simple as that.
Of course, Changyun isn't only our stylist. He's such a great friend as well, and while he might be a bit clumsy sometimes, that doesn't prevent him from giving great advice about basically anything. Some of his closest clients go to his boutique just for some suggestions, no matter the topic. His tips, especially the ones in the creative department, are always worth listening to. He helped us with our career choices multiple times, to the point we kind of consider him our manager. We don't need a lot of managing and organization being only locally known, we usually do everything on our own, but Changyun is always of help. We even consider paying him for these bonus services, but he always insists "The publicity to my boutique you do with your videos is more than enough for me." He's an incredibly humble man, and we couldn't have asked for a better collaborator. I will never thank Minkyun enough for introducing him to us.
