Emily : Apogee Quest

School is FINALLY over! And yes, I'm saying that like I hate school. I do, but I love recess. You might be thinking, shouldn't you be on the bus, going home? Well, technically, yes. But also no. Rose and I have this after school gifted program, called Apogee Quest, which(don't tell Rose I said this), is a super weird name. Like, who would come up with a name called Apogee Quest? I definitely wouldn't. Well, if you ask Rose, she'll probably say I'm a crazy monkey, and I would definitely come up with the name. And I maybe would, if I was TRYING to be crazy. I'm not that excited about Apogee Quest this year, mostly because we have a new teacher, new classmates, new EVERYTHING!!! And, like, any teacher could end up teaching Apogee Quest! Even the stupid math teacher could! The thing I'm SUPER excited about is that, I heard Seth is joining Apogee Quest!!! If he joins, I would never get bored just by staring at him. But like, Rose is always trying to make me concentrate on the necklace case, so I don't really have enough time. Guess I'll just need to stare at him during math class!

Apogee Quest is outside, and I would have liked it, but we don't have good air conditioning, the greenhouses STINK, yeah. A lot of stuff. But, there are a lot of good things too. We get to do cool nature experiments outside! "Emily!" Rose comes over, making me think about the lecture she had given me earlier.

"Hmm? Oh, hey Rose!"

"What are you doing, reading a book? You hate reading. We both know that."

"Umm," I said sheepishly, "I'm writing about my C-R-U-S-H. Sorry. Also, what nickname can I give you? I mean, you call me Em."

Rose gave me a glare, and I knew I had to shut up. But, I would give her a good nickname! Like I think Row would be a good one, since I can match it to, "Row, row, row, your boat...." Yeah. Hmmmm. That is a good nickname! I want to tell Rose, but I don't think now is a good time. I mean, she's already mad at me."No," Rose huffed.

"For now," I clarified. I think I saw Rose roll her eyes at me, but I don't care.

"Come on. Apogee Quest time."

I grumble. "I think I'll hate Apogee Quest. Just the long name makes me want to faint again!"

"Emily. Emerald. Potter. You are not fainting on me again."

"Aye eye, Captain. Apogee Quest is going to be great this year!"

"Stop being sarcastic."

"But I can't just help it!"

"Then shut up."

"ZIPPPPPP!!!!"

"ZIPPPPPP!!! UNZIPPED!!"

"Shush. The teacher's talking!"

"OK!!!" I said loudly into Rose's ear, making her pull back. I smirked. It is so fun to make your twin mad!! I started listening to the teacher.

"Ok, hello kids! It's so nice meeting you all, and as you know, we'll be spending a lot of time together this year. My name is Ms. Bun. I'll start calling out names, and when I call your name, please say here and give a brief description of yourself. Ronald?"

"Here! I'm so excited to start this year off! I'm going to give you an introduction of me. I'm Ronald Kale, and I'm MUCH smarter than all of you. I think I'll be the boss this year. So. I want you to know that I'm nearly as smart as Einstein, so you need to respect me." Ronald sassed. Ugh. Of course it had to be Ronald. He is like, in ALL of my classes, and I'm just so sick of him!

"Joy?"

"Here. My name is Joy Reed, and I love reading. I hope to be a famous author one day," Joy murmured. Joy is super nice, and I heard that she is Rose's friend.

"Patricia?"

"Hi." Patricia quietly said. Oh great. Patricia. Of course. But she's acting kind of weird, because usually she is a chatterbox just like Ronald. Welp, this year isn't gonna be good.

"Seth?"

"Here. My name is Seth Marie. I love basketball." Seth?!?!?!?!? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! If no one was here, I would probably scream my head off. Did I say that this year is not gonna be good? Let me say that again, THIS YEAR IS GONNA BE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would've added more exclamation marks, but you guys would probably get bored of just seeing them. In case you were too lazy to read what happened before this, Seth is my crush. I mean, he always has been.

"Emily?"

Oh, great. The teacher decides to call me just after Seth. Now this is gonna make me embarrassed and Seth will never like me anymore! Welp, here I go.

"Here. My n-name is Emily Potter." Phew. I only stuttered once. I mean, that was a personal record broken!

"Rose?"

"Here. My name is Rose Potter. I'm Emily's sister, and this is my 3rd year in Apogee Quest." Finally she's done with calling roll. Now just time to listen to Rose's boring plans for the necklace case.
