Chapter 5: Aggressive Golf

Scene 1:

It's been more than a month. Kaz and Lynn have pretty much adapted to the new universe, and are now looking to take the next step: Making enough wealth and moving out of Noah's second house. Lynn has created this universe's first nail salon in decades, while Kaz opened a phone case shop. Both have been making a pretty big amount of gold bars and coins. Right now, it's February 14th, Tuesday afternoon. Their classes ended earlier, so right now, Kaz is about to leave, and go to his shop. He runs into Noah.

Noah: Already here?

Kaz: Yeah. Classes ended earlier, so I'm opening up the shop now.

Noah: Huh. You and Lynn are really into these new business ideas of yours.

Kaz: Yeah. By my calculations, we might be moving out pretty soon.

Noah: You know you don't have to rush, right? I like having you two around.

Kaz: Yeah, but we're kind of a burden, aren't we?

Noah: Not really. You're actually two wonderful teenagers. That's why I'm saying, take your time. You need to get back on your feet first, before you can walk. I just don't want you to make the same mistakes I made, when I was your age.

Kaz: Relax, Noah. We won't rush into anything.

[Kaz sees Martin in the distance]

Kaz: I gotta go. Take it easy, Noah.

[Kaz leaves Noah, and walks up to Martin. The two start walking to the phone case shop]

Martin: What were you and Noah talking about?

Kaz: Nothing. He's just telling me that Lynn and I don't have to rush out of his place... I think he feels kinda lonely, that's why he wants us around.

Martin: Yeah. Ms. Jenkins, the old lady who gave me a place to sleep 3 years ago, acted the same way when I was on the verge of leaving.

Kaz: Huh... You still in touch with that old lady? Maybe we could set her up on a date with Noah.

Martin: Meh. I don't know if that's a good idea.

Kaz: Why not?

Martin: It's just weird to play cupid for old people. 

Kaz: Maybe. But it's something we could try.

[It doesn't take them long to get to the phone case shop. Kaz opens the door, and the two enter. Kaz gets behind the counter]

Martin: How many have you sold so far?

Kaz: Almost 2k, which would be half of them. They sell like crazy.

Martin: You must have a total shitload of gold bars and coins.

Kaz: I do. I have no idea how I'm gonna be able to walk around with all those gold bars, when I come back.

Martin: Ah, the lack of safety. That's something I don't miss about our universe.

[Lee and Corey show up at the shop]

Lee: Told you they would be here.

Corey: Of course. You must be getting a lot of gold out of this, Kaz.

Kaz: You bet.

Corey: Cool.

Lee: Hey Kaz, do you still have that phone case I had my eyes on, last week? I kinda wanna buy it, for my mom's birthday.

Kaz: The one with the snowflakes?

Lee: Yeah. It reminds her of Gooseland. I think she'll like it.

Kaz: (points to it) Right there, fam.
