"hyunjin!! Wake up!!" A voice whispered, tapping hyunjins shoulder. He slowly took his head out of his arms, looking up to see that he fell asleep in class again. He wiped his eyes, turning to the voice that woke him. "you fell asleep in class, again. your gonna fail this class if you keep this up " hyunjin laid his head back down, ignoring chan.
"Chan-ie hyung, i already know how to draw, I don't need anymore help..."
Chan scolded him for several more minutes before the teacher shushed him, turning back around. A bell rang throughout the room, every student standing up and running out.
Hyunjin and chan walked outside of the campus, going to their usual hangout spot to wait for everyone to get out of their classes. Their hangout was a white bench, sitting under a Cherry blossom tree. Minho and changbin where already there, changbin sitting on the table while Minho complained about some group project he had for a class. Changbin turned to look at them, a smile painting his face as the two sat down by Minho.
"Hyunjin fell asleep in class, again. He's so stupid!! Hyunjin, your gonna fail!!" Hyunjin smiled, taking out his phone to scroll social media while chan, changbin, and Minho talked.
-
Hyunjin zoned out through most of the conversation, eventually falling asleep on the bench. The second he fell asleep, a hand slapped his back, getting hyunjin to wake up again.
"Hyunjin, we're all going out to the mall, do you wanna join?" Hyunjin thought for a second, looking up to see everyone now standing, about to leave.
"Nah, I'm tired. Probably gonna go get some coffee. See you guys at the dorms" the guys left, waving goodbye to him. All hyunjin did was fall back asleep as his eyes fell closed.
-
Hyunjin woke up to water hitting his nose. His eyes fluttered open slowly, wiping off the rain drop. He looked up at the clouds through the trees, seeing them dark, and heavy with rain. Another drop tapped his face, running down his cheek.
A cherry blossom fell off the the tree, landing in his hair. Hyunjin smiled, picking the flower off his head and setting it on the bench gently.
hyunjin put up his hood, walking over to the cherry blossom tree. He cupped one of the blooms in his hands, admiring the color. It was white, with pink on the tips of the petals. He picked the flower off, along with a cherry. He placed it in a bird's nest, knowing that the little birds around the campus love the cherries. The second he placed the cherry in, a little bird swooped down, landing in the nest. Hyunjin jumped, startled by the little bird. He smiled after, recognizing the bird as one he feeds often. He watched as the bird nibbled at the cherry, then picking it up and flying off. Hyunjin smiled, watching it disappear behind the trees.
"Bye bye, little bird" he smiled, walking out of the campus in the rain.
-
The rain was falling harder now, hyunjin passed several people with umbrellas, wishing he brought his. The walk back to his dorm was long, way longer then he remembered.
Hyunjin saw a small cafe on his way back, a tiny shop that hyunjin didn't remember seeing on his way there. As he came closer, he saw a sign that read in a cute handwriting " recently opened, Aussie Cafe " hyunjin smiled, reading the name.
He opened the door, a bell ringing as he did so. There was a small boy standing by the counter, a washcloth in hand as he cleaned the table top. The boy didn't notice the bell ringing, completely distracted by the music he was playing. He was so small, his hair was red, with freckles decorating his cheeks. He was wearing a tight, white shirt, a brown apron tied around his body, showing off his slim waist perfectly. He was wearing a thin choker, paired with a neckless that had a seashell tied to it. He also had a bracelet wrapped around his wrist, it was braided, made out of what looks like leather.
"Hello" hyunjin said gently as the boy jumped, surprised. "Oh, Hi. I didn't see anyone come in. What would you like today, sir?"
Hyunjin didn't process a word he said, far to distracted by the boys voice. His face was so adorable, but his voice... It was so deep, not matching his face at all.
"Umm... What did you say again?" The barista laughed, his eyes disappearing with his smile.
"Where you distracted by my voice?" Hyunjin smiled, his face heating up and he looked at the floor.
"It doesn't match your face at all, but I think your voice is pretty" hyunjin looked back up at him, the boy also having a tint of pink blush upon his cheeks. "Well thank you, sir. All I said was hello, I didn't know you come in, and what do you want today?" Hyunjin smiled, looking up at the stores options. Hyunjin lit up as he read 'hot chocolate' In small letters, almost hidden away.
"Woah, you have hot chocolate here??" The barista smiled, head slightly tilting to the side.
"Yep, nobody orders it though. Ya know, most people don't get hot chocolate at a coffee shop. I'm thinking of taking it off the menu." Hyunjins eyes went wide, confused.
"No!! I love hot chocolate!" The boy smiled, grabbing a cup and walking off to make hyunjins drink.
"Okay okay, I'll keep it on the menu, just for you" hyunjin felt his heart melt slightly, watching as the boy worked on making it. He turned around, placing a cap on hyunjins drink and setting it on the counter.
"And what's your name?" The barista took out a sharpie from behind the counter, holding it up to the cup.
"Hyunjin" Felix smiled, repeating the name back to him. He wrote down the name, turning the cup around to show him.
"This right?" Hyunjin nodded, taking the cup. As he grabbed it, his finger tips gently glided over the back of the Barista's hand. his skin was so soft...
"Do you own the place?" The boy nodded, tapping on the cash register.
"What's the name supposed to mean?" He smiled, looking happy to talk about the subject.
" I just moved here from Australia. So I'm sorry if I don't understand complex words." Hyunjin smiled, getting a soft smile from the boy as well.
"Your Korean is pretty good though. I don't really hear your accent"
"Thats cuz you can only hear it when I speak English" he spoke, changing languages so hyunjin can hear it. That deep voice, mixed with an Australian accent, really did something to hyunjins heart.
"Woah, I have a friend from Australia as well, but your accent is so much nicer..." The barista smiled, his smile was so bright, like it could light up the sky.
"I never got your name, can you tell me it?" The barista let out a gentle laugh, shaking his head teasingly.
"It's a secret. Also, that would be $2, sir" hyunjin smiled, pulling out his wallet and handing the boy 5 dollars.
"Wow, your making my job hard by doing math, meanie" hyunjin laughed as the barista handed him his money back.
Hyunjin grabbed his hot chocolate and sat down at one of the tables. He watched as the barista worked, taking orders, cleaning tables, everything. The boy did occasionally look at hyunjin, giving him that happy little smile before continuing his job.
As hyunjin finished his drink, he tossed it out, walking out of the store without a word to the barista, just a wave goodbye fallowed by a smile.
All he left behind for the barista, was a cherry blossom, sitting on the table where hyunjin sat.
He watched as the barista walked over to that table, but stopped as he was the flower. Even though hyunjin was outside the store, and pretty far away, he could still see how bright the boys smile was as he placed his washcloth down on the table, taking the flower in his hands. he examined the little flower, spinning it to look at it from every angle. The barista looked outside, scanning the streets as hyunjin watched him. Hyunjin just turned away, walking off to his dorm before the barista could spot him.
