Luminous Heirs

Chapter 1: The Beginning

"You would represent the Reinashin Clan for the upcoming Luminous Heirs Competition."

Aria still looked dazed as her father the head of the Reinashin Clan, who she hasn't seen for the last 10 years just barged into her home. "But..." Aria didn't finish her words as her father interrupted her.

"I'm not asking your opinion. It is your duty and honor as a Reinashin descendant to participate in this competition. Pack your things and wait at the Atticus there will be someone who would attend to your needs."

"Yes, Clan Leader"

Aria doesn't even have the right to call her father because she is an illegitimate child. This also the reason why Aria is in doubt what is the reason behind picking her to represent the clan in the upcoming luminous heir's competition. If her existence disgusts him too much why pick her?

The Luminous Heir Competition is a battle between twelve clans. Each clan would pick their representatives ages between 15 -18 and fight each other until 6 heirs remained.

Atticus, the capital city of the Holy Land of Gwendolyn, sat the statues of the past Saints who won the luminous heir competition.

The people who have powers are called Saints and worshipped as Gods by the people of Gwendolyn.

Saints can only obtain powers through blood, or they have the talent to be power users.

Aria looked in awe at the majesty and elegance of the statues. She doesn't understand that even though it is just a statue she could feel the magic overflowing from the area.

"Are you Lady Aria Serena Reinashin?" A short pink-haired woman wearing a maid uniform asked Aria.

"Yes, are you the one who is assigned to me by the clan leader?"

"I am, Lady Aria. My name is Antoinette, and I will be at your service for the rest of the competition, my Lady"

"You can just call me Aria. If you don't mind me asking, how did you know it's me?"

"I can't call you by your name Lady Aria, it is against the rules of Reinashin clan teachings. Lady Aria has the white hair and white eye unique to Reinashin descendants."

"Ohh, you're right. It's too dumb for me to ask." Aria forgot that even though she's not acknowledged by her father, her features can't be denied as Reinashin's blood. She also thinks that Antoinette lives up to the clan's teachings as she inherited the clan's strictness.

"Lady Aria, you can give me your belongings. I would also brief you on the Luminous Heirs Competition rules."

"Okay, where are we going?"

"The competition would take place in the Veltimigia land. The head clan of Veltimigia would facilitate the competition. They also set rules that a clan could refuse to send a representative this time. So, in response, these two clans have refused to participate in the competition. The two clan heads have taken lead to be judges in the competition."

"The head clan doesn't expect Lady Aria to win but wants Lady Aria to be in the top 6 or there would be consequences."

Aria restrained the fear of past memories resurfacing and silently nodded to Antoinette.

Antoinette looked satisfied on the fear-stricken face of Aria. Antoinette thinks that the head clan's illegitimate child has no right to be served by her.

Aria ignored the contempt behind Antonitte's words she just need to be at the top 6 and then she would be free.
