I held onto the glass pillar at the doorway out of Mr. Caffeine and looked outside for the woman.
Suddenly, a hand pulled me to the side of the cafe in order to not let my friends see me. I gazed upon a woman who looked so familiar, like I've seen before..
"Who... Who are you?" I asked, finally breaking the ice.
"You're Diane Davis... Diane.." She replied as she stared at me more.
"I asked you something.." I answered back.
"Right.. I am Harley, Harley Johnson.." She told me.
I felt like my mind was pierced through as I remembered the name Harley from a long time ago.. And she then spoke to me.
"Previously I was Harley Davis... Yes.. I'm sure you know what I mean." She admitted.
"Mom...?" I stared at her and then squinted with hatred to her and raised my voice, "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US?!"
"Honey, calm down.. Please.. We don't want to stir up something here.." She requested me while holding my arms. "Please just listen..."
I calmed a little but I was still filled with hatred. I listened and tried to calm down anyways.
"I know... I know I made a wrong choice of leaving you, Jerome and your father, I really regretted it. I never wanted it to happen. And you know it.." She said, "You do know.. I still have feelings for your father, but it just doesn't work out."
"What are you trying to say here?" I replied, with a scratch to my voice.
"I... I may be coming back.. I just don't know." She finally explained.
Seriously? Now? Come back?
I looked at her deeply, looking away after."After what you did, do you think we would want you back, Mom?" Little more edge to my voice now, while my hand curled into a fist.
She let out a sigh, and stared around us and said, "Diane.. I'm really sorry. Very sorry. I never meant it to be that way.."
"If you never meant it that way, why did you do it anyway?" I said then finally raced away from her, leaving her confused.
I walked into Mr. Caffeine and made my way to our table, Wyatt looked at me, clueless.
I picked up my bags and walked away from Loranna and Wyatt.
"Diane? Diane! Where are you going?" Wyatt asked.
"Yeah wait up!" Loranna said after.
I continued walking anyways. I turned to my right around the glass pillar, staring at my "mother" for the last time and gave her the gravely look and rolled my eyes, walking faster this time.
Loranna and Wyatt followed up as they stared at my mother just as they exitted Mr. Caffeine.
They continued following me.
"Diane, Wait! Stop!" Loranna ran up to me and held my shoulder to stop me from walking. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing guys," I reminded as I wiped off tears that was rolling off my cheeks. "Really it's nothing.."
We were at Anveilla Park and Loranna invited me to sit down on the bench near to us.
"Don't judge us, Diane, just tell us what happened. Who was that woman whom you were talking to?" She asked.
Wyatt looked at me deeply like he really wanted me to tell. I did anyways.
"That.. that was my mother.. who left my family for someone else." I said, stopped crying finally. "She wanted to come back in, and I just can't forgive her for what she've done."
