8:30pm

The moment Donnie stepped out of the bathroom he was greeted by an explosion of noise. All around him children ran past, employees moved quickly to deliver food and parents talked with each other and their kids. The smell of old carpeting and sweet candy hung in the air around him and was almost nauseating. All around him was a large dimmed room adorned and covered in a constant neon purple and pink glow, no doubt a result of the neon lights mounted on the walls and signs found all about the place. The walls were covered in posters and pictures of the animatronic band as well as record disks and neon signs in the shape of music notes and other shapes. Donnie was in awe at he sheer amount of things he hadn't noticed upon first entering the restaurant, primarily the sparkly hot pink 1960 Cadillac parked in the corner right next to the prize counter. Above Donnie, the ceiling was a deep and dark blue with large yellow stars painted on it that almost seemed to stretch onwards for miles.

"Jesus this place is big." Donnie mumbled As he continued to walk forward weaving in and out of the crowd that surrounded him and threatened to envelop him, trying to find a place that could provide sufficient entertainment. Donnie scanned around but didn't recognize anything which now left him with only one real option: exploration.

Donnie decided to walk more towards the left side of the main lobby towards a large gaping entrance way. The entrance had a line to get in but seeing how Donnie didn't have anything better to do, he reluctantly stepped in. Donnie finally looked up at the entrance way so that he could get a better look and caught sight of a sign written in neon cursive perched right above the entrance. "Baby's Rockin' Roller Rink. Talk about getting carried away with the alliteration." Donnie mumbled to himself once again as he shuffled a bit more forward in the line. Eventually after a bit more waiting, Donnie reached the front.

At the front of the line was an employee standing at a red booth leaning over it with his elbow resting on the top of it. He glanced over at Donnie and held out a hand in front of Donnie's chest as he had attempted to step forward. "Sorry the rink is rented out for a private birthday party, I need to see your wristband or I can't let you in."

"Huh?" Donnie tilted his head in slight confusion. "Well I came here for a private birthday but I didn't know that I needed a wristband to get into stuff. I did go to the bathroom though so I might have missed something." The employee gestured back towards the party room which Donnie had originally been in and began to speak in a routine and monotone way, as if he had said the very same few words many times that night. "Well if you didn't get one for whatever reason, they should have been handed out in your reserved party room. If you need one your party host should have them at your room."

Donnie nodded quickly and looked at the line behind him and then back at the employee. "Uh, I'll go check the room and come back if I find a wristband." The employee only offered a quick and small nod in response as Donnie turned around and jogged across the shiny black and white tiled floor back through the lobby. Donnie eventually arrived back at the the party room that he started in and slowly opened the door and walked inside. The room was messy and covered in candy wrappers and half eaten food. Clearly all the kids who had formerly been there and his mother had left to the roller rink without him leaving him to catch up. Donnie looked around the torn apart party room for any sign of wristbands but only found more trash and half eaten food. That was until he spotted something at the back of the room, right where he had been sitting.

"Hm.." Donnie turned and began to walk towards the object. It became clear pretty quickly that the object was actually a pink balloon. Donnie looked around the room for signs of any other balloons but oddly the party room seemed to be absent of any balloons. Maybe some kid lost their balloon? No, it couldn't be that. The balloon seemed to be intentionally placed here. Donnie glanced down at the string tied to the balloon and noticed some kind of rectangular shaped paper was tied to the end of the string as well. Donnie cautiously stepped closer to the balloon to get a better look, looking back and fourth as if someone could have been watching him.

"God Donnie it's just a fucking balloon, not a bomb. get it together." Donnie cursed under his breath as he made his slow approach eventually reaching the balloon. The balloon bobbed and slowly rotated in the air revealing a print of a cartoon Roller Baby smiling while wearing a party hat, the words "Happy Birthday!" Were printed in big text right below the design. Donnie glanced down and grabbed the piece of paper tied to the string. Donnie turned the paper around and found not only some kind of writing on it, but a folded up wristband taped to it. "A special gift for a very special birthday boy." Donnie rolled his eyes at the cliché message. It sounded like something every corporate entertainment place would paste all over their merchandise. But then again, this place was probably no different wasn't it? However what was written below the printed on note was what really confused him. "Come see me for a special surprise!-B" The words slowly made their way out of his mouth as he spoke them. It seemed that those last words weren't printed on like the previous ones, but rather written by someone.

Donnie looked around the room, wondering how or when this message was made. But whatever it was, it came with a pink wristband that had red stripes on it. "Maybe this is that wristband the guy said I needed." Or was it? The wristband had the word "V.I.P" printed on it with "meet and greet" also printed on the band right below it. Donnie untied the note and put on the wristband before letting the balloon go and float up and away towards the ceiling. Donnie did one last scan of the room before slowly making his way back to the entrance of the room once more and opening it, sending him back out into the chaos of the lobby.
