9:22am
After a small drive, Donnie had found himself back where this whole thing had started; Baby's Rockin' Roller Diner. That was a name he never had thought he'd be hearing again anytime soon but yet, here he was. Looming over Donnie was the smiling and winking image of Rockin' Roller Baby herself. As he had earlier, Donnie made eye contact with the all seeing sign. Donnie remembered last night when he had first made eye contact with the robot and then spoke with her. The thought made him shiver as he remembered all the odd occurrences, like the mysterious wristband, the chilling promise the robot had made and her mysterious appearance in the VIP room. Truthfully Donnie wasn't prepared to return back to the location this soon but he was getting a job so it would be rather hard to complain about the circumstances.
The car came to a stop against the front entrance curb. Harriet unlocked the doors and removed the keys from the ignition before stepping out of the car. Donnie unbuckled his seatbelt and promptly exited the car. Waiting for Donnie at the entrance was William Afton who motioned for Donnie to come closer.
"Ah, there you are! I was beginning to worry that you got caught up in the morning traffic rush." William nodded at Harriet and motioned for her to remain at the car which she soon did. "Come, we have much to discuss." Donnie followed close behind William and into the previously crowded lobby that Donnie had traversed last night. "As you'll come to find dear boy, this location is rather expansive." The man spun and guided his hand around the room as he did so. Donnie couldn't help but notice the pride in his voice and in his actions. Donnie always imagined CEOs to be these boring corporate sleazes who didn't care much to visit the employees of the lower levels, let alone alongside them. Yet here was Afton, taking time directly out of his morning to run the orientation alongside Donnie.
"I'm sure you're familiar with this place already, yes?" William asked. "Yeah, I ran through here a couple times last night." Donnie nodded and looked around at the empty and quiet lobby. It was a definite stark contrast to the busy and loud environment that it was last night. "That's good then. It's always good when one of my prospects is well adjusted ahead of time." William walked Donnie over to a whiteboard found behind the entrance check-in counter and pointed towards it. "Here at Baby's we never do anything alone. You see, there is quite a bit of potentially dangerous machinery that you and your coworkers will be working with." William tapped the board and lifted his finger in the air in a matter of a fact way. "And because of that you will be assigned a partner to work with. This board keeps track of what you and your partner will be working on for the day and who you are partnered with." William began to walk Donnie away from the sign and back to the center of the room. "Now, this may sound odd but before we continue any further I must know if you'd be comfortable being a technician"
Donnie rubbed the back of his head and shrugged. "That sounds cool and all Mr. Afton but I don't know anything about that stuff." William laughed out loud in response to Donnie's reply. The laugh was hearty and oddly infectious. The kind of laugh that drove people to joke with the goal of hearing it more. "Oh they never do Donovan." sensing Donnie's confusion William stopped and clarified his previous statement. "Most of the inner workings here are tech seen by no one but me and my employees. Your local technician could never figure out how to fix one of my magnificent creations. They require somewhat unconventional methods to be repaired that can only be taught by me or my staff." William shrugged and chuckled before continuing further. "Or to put it shortly, no previous knowledge is required. I'll train you myself."
Donnie looked to the side and then back at WIlliam. "Okay, I wouldn't mind giving it a try then I guess." William pat Donnie on the back and began to lead Donnie towards the double doors on the far left of the lobby. "That's the spirit! Now then, continuing on this is the aptly named air room." Donnie raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Air room?" WIlliam nods. "The air room is an inflatable bounce room of sorts." William leaned close and used his hand to cover the front of his tilted head as if he was sharing a secret. "It's rather popular amongst our customers." William straightened back up and pointed across the way to the all too familiar roller rink doors. "That is our roller rink, the name is self explanatory." William motioned towards the dark hallway off to the side that had led to the theater and VIP room. "That's the theater row which I'm sure you're well acquainted with." Willam walked Donnie back to the center and motioned dead ahead. In front of them was a large entrance way that gaped open wide like a manufactured mouth. "And there my dear boy, is the main hall." William walked with Donnie forward into the hall, finally revealing it in all its splendor.
