Nymphadora's POV:
The annoying ringing of my alarm brings me out of the deep slumber I was in. I roll over the bed, turn the ringing off, and sit up straight. Ashley is sleeping next to me and I shake her up.
"Ash, get your dress out while I take a shower", I tell her, she murmurs in her sleep as I swing my legs off the bed with a groan and stand up, wincing as every part of my body hurts.
I should get a proper checkup and get my sleeping pills changed. I put it on my to-do list as I entered the bathroom and got into the shower.
The cut on my shoulder is bloody because I made no effort last night to clean it up or put something on it. Warm water will have to do for now.
After getting ready, I go to the kitchen to make breakfast and lunch for everyone while Ashley dresses up. Honestly, she is the smartest 7-year-old I have ever known. Even I wasn't that smart when I was &.
I halt my thoughts as Ashley comes in and sits on the bar with my help.
I have no strength to go to school but it sounds way better than staying at home, maybe with Aunt Adeline.
I walk out of the house at 7:30 with Ashley. It is cold outside, indicating the start of the new season, winter, but the sun still shines brightly, allowing the green grass to show different hues of green to any passerby.
It normally takes us 10 minutes to walk to school, but since I am tired and walking slowly, Ashley starts skipping in front of me.
"Ash, slow down," I call out to her as we reach the busier part of the area.
"Okay Dora," she stops and turns towards me to wait for me but when I notice her eyes widen as she looks at something behind me, I quickly turn around and see Daniel, Aunt Adeline's boyfriend, a few blocks away from us, and by the looks of it, following us.
My heart starts beating faster and I quicken my pace to reach Ashley before heading to school, faster than before.
That guy is bad news.
Relief floods my system as we enter the parking lot of the school. Before leaving Ashley at the junior's campus, I kneel at her level. She seems shaken and it's all my fault.
"Ash, baby, listen carefully, okay?" I ask and she nods. "If you see Daniel anywhere near the school, go to a teacher and wait with her till I come and pick you up, Okay? Don't go out with me and stay away from him, got it?" I ask her with worry in my tone
"Got it!" She says with a grin and hugs me before running to her class.
A few minutes later, I am in front of my locker, taking out the books I left here yesterday and putting the unnecessary ones back. Suddenly, the hallway goes silent. My heartbeat races as I think of what might be going at my back, and not turn around and face it myself.
I see everyone looking in the middle of the hallway from the corner of my eye. Being too scared, I try to shrink myself into the locker walls and pretend to be busy with my locker.
"Nymphadora?" Shit. The voice is familiar. Obviously, it is familiar. I turn around and green eyes invade my vision.
"Noah." I nod in greeting. All eyes turn to me. There are three boys behind him which I have never seen before. They all stand behind him like they are bodyguards.
"You coming to class or what?" Noah asks as I shut my locker with an unintended slam.
"I am going somewhere else before class, sorry." I immediately make up my mind to go to Nurse Amanda.
