(Trigger warning)
Ace's POV:
Help.
The text sends shivers down my spine. I take a U-turn back to her house, calling Ray, the bodyguard I hired for her. I break a traffic light as the phone rings.
He doesn't answer and it only increases the tension coursing through my body. It's almost 1 in the morning so there is zero to no traffic, all the good for me. As long as I can reach her before something happens.
The front door is closed when I reach a few minutes later. I am going to kill that bastard if he isn't here. I run out of my car up to the front door and kick causing it to give way. The living room is lit up in a sinister way.
I see 2 figures.
One of them is tied up to a chair in the middle of the room and the other is hovering over the other.
Even with all the noise, both of them haven't noticed me.
The figure tied to the chair looks faint, head hanging low, hair falling around the face like a veil, almost naked.
The other has something in the hand, something sharp.
A knife.
Burning red.
A heated, sharp knife.
I stand there paralyzed watching the two.
The towering figure lifts the knife up to the other's stomach and as it makes contact with skin, an ear-piercing scream erupts from Nymphadora's mouth. I dash forward, throwing the other woman out of the way. She falls to the floor and her head hits the leg of the table, before flaking out. The knife goes limp in her hand and I kick it away.
I look back at Nymphadora who is back in her position again, head hung low.
"Nymphadora, look at me, please," I kneel in front of her face and grab her face in my hands gently, brushing her hair aside. Her eyes are shut but her face is multicolored and bleeding. She doesn't flinch at my touch
I let go of her face and untie her wrists. She slumps into me, but I know she is still conscious. I lean her back as I notice the blanket draped on the back side of the couch. Covering Nymphadora with it, I pick her up and run out of the house into my car. Gently placing her on the passenger's seat in the front, I turn to close the door and make it to my seat but Nymphadora grabs hold of my suit's collars. I still, glancing at her. Her eyes are fearful.
She opens her mouth to speak but no words come out, so, she looks at the house and I nod my head before backing away and closing her door. Speed walking inside, I make my way to Dora's room and turn the handle but it doesn't budge. I gently knock on the door and whisper, "Ashley? Come on we need to go." When no response comes from the other side, I knock again. "Ashley, it's Ace. Open up." Nerves gnaw my insides, so, I do the only thing that I can think of, and kick the door with power enough to remove it from its hinges.
Ashley is in the other corner of the room, curled up in a ball, looking at me with eyes full of fear. Luckily, she is a smart kid and allows me to pick her up from the floor. On my way out of the house, I quickly peek in the freezer and, to my relief, find an ice pack. Hurrying back to the car, I place Ashley in the back seat and get in the driver's seat.

Her gaze never left mine as Vincent treated her wounds. She didn't make a single noise, a single movement, just that blank stare my way. Vincent prescribes a few painkillers and some supplements after he is done and leaves, informing me about Aaron's condition before walking out of the door.
