"not slytherin, aye? Potter boy said the same thing!"
-(Y/n) POV-
"Ron! Ron! Don't forget Scabbers!" Mum shouted as she ran after the moving train, with her arms extended.
Ron reached out the window and grabbed Scabbers. We were on our way to Hogwarts. I sat next to Harry, Hermione in front of Harry and Ron next to Hermione. As I leaned my head against the window, the trolley lady came.
"Anything from the trolley, dears?" She asked us. I shook my head. My stomach was already nauseous. I don't want to be sorted into Slytherin, like both my parents. I wanted to be the complete opposite. Ron had gone to the bathroom, while Hermione went to change. She apparently always changed early according to Ron.
"You seem very quiet," Harry points out, biting into his gummy worm.
"Just... thinking." I mumbled.
"About?"
"Being sorted. I want to be in Gryffindor with you guys, but ever since my family started going to Hogwarts, they were all in Slytherin." I groaned. "And I have this disgusting bit of Voldemort inside me cuz he tried to kill me. I'm going to go to Slytherin,"
"Hey, it's fine. I was probably going to be sorted there too, but I ended up in Gryffindor. I think you have a great chance. Trust me. Plus, judging by your personality, braveness and intellect, you'll make a perfect Gryffindor."
"Thanks, Harry." I grabbed one of his gummy worms and chewed on it. He put the box between us so that we could share. He really was a sweetheart.
A few minutes later, both Ron and Hermione came back, sitting down in their seats. We chatted a bit before the train came to a quick halt.
"Well, we can't be there yet, surely?" Hermione muttered. Ron put his hand on the window, as the lights dimmed and flickered. As Ron started to lean his head on the glass, it turned into ice. Childhood trauma, I was slightly afraid of the dark. I grabbed the first thing in sight which was Harrys hand.
I quickly pulled it away, apologising. Just a few seconds later I felt a warm hand on mine. I glanced at Harry and flashed him a quick smile. Although we only met yesterday, Harry was already someone I trust.
"G-guys?" Ron whimpered. "Somethings moving out there."
I looked out the window and indeed, something was floating. I knew exactly what it was.
Just as I was about to warn them about the dementor, one started to open the doors lock. I froze. It was so hard for me to conjure a patronus charm because I haven't had great memories. The dementor quickly opened the door, and without hesitating, started to suck Harrys soul. I grabbed my wand and pointed it at the dementor.
I flooded my mind with the thoughts of my mom and I on our first vacation.
"Expecto Patronum!" I shouted. Nothing .
