"I'm not eating it!"
"Stop being such a baby and just open your mouth."
"If you think it's that tasty, put it in your own mouth."
"God, you're such a fucking baby! Open!"
"No!"
"Adrien?"
"Nope."
Marinette growled, throwing the spoon onto the hospital tray and crossing her arms over her chest. He was being such a child at the moment, she was wondering if there was a naughty step somewhere she could send him too.
"Look!" he suddenly shouted. Once again making her mentally put him in the under 5's category.
He'd moved forward uncomfortably with a wince, one finger pointing and waggling at the screen of the television as Luka and Jagged Stone took to the stage. They looked fantastic. She was the one who'd dressed them after all, so could they expect anything less? Father and son were wearing matching designs, however Jagged was in his usual purple combo and Luka blue.
Marinette watched as they performed their first song, the two working together flawlessly before welcoming Juleka to the stage and Jagged performing a separate song with her. She couldn't have been more thrilled for the once estranged family to suddenly reunite and be stronger than ever, but a small churning in her gut brought her back to the wonderful human being laying (almost) hopeless beside her.
Adrien was making a miraculous recovery, the knife having (luckily) missed all his main internal organs, and yes he was right; if he'd had an appendix...well...he wouldn't anymore; the knife passing right through where it would have lay.
Not only was Adrien now dealing with his own injuries but also that of his mother and father. They were both still deeply set in comas with no guarantee they would ever wake up. Su-Han had offered to take them to the temple to try some remedies there but Adrien was undergoing surgery at the time and Marinette hadn't had a chance to speak to him about it yet. They'd both agreed though it would be for the best.
It had been a week since the attack in the Louvre, a whole week since everyone's worlds were turned upside down and although Adrien had come out a little worse for wear, everyone else was high in spirit from the win.
"I wish we were there," Adrien sighed. He'd dealt with everything like the hero he was, just glad he was able to protect those he loved and be around to start his forever life with his Lady.
Vivica had given him the divorce on the grounds she wasn't arrested alongside Nathalie and Frankie, however it was a complete no brainer. Where Frankie had been created out of bitter emotions and anger, Vivica (though not completely innocent) had been created with compassion. All she wanted was to live a full life beside her two lovers; Lila and Félix. Neither Adrien nor Marinette could wrap their heads around why she'd been created with empathy, but they were grateful she had been.
Félix had proposed to his two lovers the day after the attack, though Lila had taken a rather hard beating mentally. Both Félix and Vivica agreed she needed to see a therapist not only for her lying and anger management issues but also to try and uncover what had happened to her between her bailment and the final battle. She'd clammed up. Completely unwilling to talk to anyone and becoming a shell of herself. As much as Marinette disliked the woman, she wouldn't wish this upon anyone.
Félix had, surprisingly, become a daily visitor to Adrien and though Marinette still didn't trust a centimetre of ground he walked on, it seemed he did actually care a lot about Adrien, and for that she would always be grateful.
"Next year, Minou."
As the music finished on the television Adrien clapped and cheered for his friends before the next act, Clara Nightingale, came onto the screen. Tonight was the 'Gift for Kidz' celebration and both were gutted that they weren't there supporting it, as themselves and their alter egos. Every year they appeared, greeted the children and spent the time dancing and socialising with them. Adrien just prayed they weren't too disappointed by the lack of Ladybug and Chat Noir, however, Ruyko, Viperion and Vespira were doing a great job at filling in.
