"What are you doing here, IU?" Jungkook asks the assassin.
"Do you know her?" Taehyung asks him.
Jungkook doesn't acknowledge him or look away from IU. "What are you doing here?" He asks her again.
She says nothing.
"Seems she doesn't speak," observes Taehyung. "Namjoon see if you can loosen her mouth."
You gasp, shocked at your boyfriend's viciousness. You watch with wide eyes as Namjoon raises his fist to punch IU like he punched your husband all those weeks ago, but suddenly Jungkook reaches out and grabs his wrist.
"Back the fuck off," says Jungkook to Taehyung's bodyguard.
"No," says Taehyung in a voice like ice. "You back the fuck off."
Jungkook turns a glare on Taehyung that makes you worry. They just made peace and now Jungkook is glaring at Taehyung over this woman.
"I know her," says Jungkook.
"She shot me because she was trying to kill a woman we both love."
IU turns to look at you with narrowed eyes. You just meet her glare, expressionless. This woman wants to kill you. She almost killed, Taehyung. She's your enemy.
"She's a woman," says Jungkook. "You can't hit her."
"She's an assassin," counters Taehyung. "She's lucky if all we do is hit her."
Jungkook stares at Taehyung. Taehyung stares at Jungkook. IU stares at Jungkook. You look back and forth between all three. And the world seems to freeze as the two bosses glare at each other.
"Jungkook," says Taehyung from the hospital bed. Even with his shoulder bandaged, Taehyung is hot as hell. Maybe even hotter with the wound he got from protecting you.
Your heart flutters once again thinking about how close you came to losing your life and worst, how close you came to losing the love of your life forever. You look at IU, the woman who wants you dead and see something behind her eyes as she looks as Jungkook... looks a lot like yearning to you.
Ohhhhhh You think, mentally slapping your palm to your forehead.
"Is Jungkook the reason you took the contract on my life?" You ask IU.
She looks as you from a face too perfect to be real and feel your stomach flip. If eyes could kill? You'd be dead.
"He is... isn't he?" You say, but it's not really a question. You're sure.
IU doesn't blink and she doesn't speak. Just stares at you with hate in her eyes.
"Just so you know... I'm committed to Taehyung. 100% committed to him," you tell IU.
A look of pure hatred takes over her face. "As if that has ever mattered," she finally speaks.
Taehyung laughs. "Namjoon stand down." And the bodyguard steps out into the hall with Hoseok. "So you more than know this woman, Jungkook."
Jungkook nods. "I know her... intimately."
IU stiffens from her place on her knees on the clinic floor. Her eyes finally leave you and cut toward Jungkook.
"What?" Jungkook asks her. "Am I lying?"
IU says nothing.
"So this isn't about Cole's family?" You ask. "It's about you?"
"I think it's about both," Jungkook says, blanching and shaking his head. "IU if you kill her... do you think I could ever forgive you? How was this the answer?"
