°°Aspen's POV°°

William demonstrated first how to properly and safely drop in each ingredient without hurting or splashing ourselves. Then showing what to do if you mess up the recipe.

He decided to make a healing potion. We watched in awe as the serum changed colours and emitted streams of light and sparks. Lots of stirring later, a mixture of colours were revealed and the potion was finished.

William used a ladle and poured the substance into two cups then handed it to us. We had a few bruises on our fists and legs from previous training so we had to see if they healed.

It was a bit scary as we didn't know if it would work or how the potion would taste. I quickly downed it before another second thought and my limbs started to feel tingly.

I looked down and the marks had disappeared like they were never there. The potion tasted slightly like medicine though but it made sense. It was a healing potion anyway.

Caleb had also drank his and he had a slightly disgusted look which I laughed at. "If you don't like the taste, we can always use a fused splasher instead. That way you only need to breathe it in." Gabriel suggested.

"Oh yes please, that would be waaaay better." Caleb dragged out. We started laughing again at his reaction.

We walked away from the cauldron and towards the fuser now which basically looked like a funnel on top of a glass ball to fill up before sealing it.

We tried to use the same healing potion recipe and we all volunteered to make a small cut on each of our arms as the test. After a few hiccups, the fused ingredients were now a splasher.

"This may be a stronger than normal glass but do remember to still be careful when bringing it around to not break a dangerous splasher. Also, don't worry about cleaning the glass, it evaporates when broken." William warned.

The three of us nodded and gazed at the silk green swirls of gas in the hollow glass sphere.

Caleb tightened his hold and smashed it on the ground. A green fog engulfed our surroundings as the fumes started to spread. And as the air entered our lungs, the cuts faded away similar to the effect of a liquid potion.

"Woo! That was way better than the liquid one!" Caleb cheered in satisfactory.

"Glad you found one that you prefer." I replied genuinely. Gabriel nodded in agreement and looked down. I followed his movements and watched as the glass pieces disintegrated into white vapour.

"Nicely done! Especially for your first try." William said proudly, waving away any remaining gas still lingering around.

"Now why don't we practice more potions? We should stock them up soon." William suggested. The three of us agreed and separated into the two potion methods.

Caleb, of course, went to the fused splasher infuser, I went to the cauldron while Gabriel sat around reading the potions, spells and beasts books.

About around an hour of practicing and memorising, it was about 3:50 in the afternoon which means we still have about 2 hours where we can go outside before having to lock ourselves in this underground place as protection from the Moon deliverer.

To spend that time wisely, the three of us prepared some supplies and went outside joined by Hannah for more bonding time and to find good materials or, if lucky, more survivors.

We scavenged around finding a few good herbs and metals. And the conversations we had were nice.

Gabriel enjoyed reading adventure or sci-fi stories and theory's ing about myths and legends. He also likes biology science which science seems to run in the family I guess.

Hannah was into food science, again running in the family, and sports making sure everyone has a balanced diet and activity. She mostly played tennis or experimented with her dishes making her very open-minded.

We didn't find that much of a variety of ingredients but we still found quite a decent quantity of it. The stuff we collected consisted of a few vines, rocks, metal plates, some food and more common stuff.

We looked around some more making sure we searched thoroughly in every corner and crack.

Hannah had a GPS on her watch so we weren't worried about getting lost. 4:30 pm was shown on the watch. Still having one and a half more hours to spare.

Tired, we stopped and rested under a tree with with a few grass and a lot of flowers surrounding it. Gabriel took out a book from his satchel and started reading, unbothered by anything else.

I sat down and started weaving a flower crown to pass some time and Caleb sat beside me, our knees against each other.

"Can you teach me that?" Caleb asked hesitantly, pointing at my unfinished accessory.

"Sure! I'll show you the weaving pattern then you can try on your own." I said grinning.

Caleb watched as I slowly enacted the process step by step while I explained its purpose. After all the training and experimenting, it was calming to have some peace like this outside.

I handed a few flowers for him to try and although he needed some help with a few steps, he finished the flower crown. He placed it on my head and smiled in pride.

That's when I felt something.
Something strange in my chest. I was unfamiliar with it but it also felt nice?

I shrugged it off and thought nothing of it. It's probably just some pain relief after the training or the after effects of the potion.

Now it was 5 pm and decided to head back to the bunker. We don't want to be out too late.

I stood up before Caleb and placed the crown I made on his head. Gabriel placed a ribbon bookmark between the pages where he stopped reading and closed his book, putting it back in his satchel.

As we followed the GPS on Hannah's watch back home, we were nearing the bunker when we heard footsteps and suddenly a thud.

Intrigued, Gabriel, Caleb and I went towards to sound. We peaked around an abandoned car to see two girls. A pale girl with blonde almost white hair and pale red eyes sat on the ground with the other that had black hair with dark skin with light skin patches bandaging the pale girl's knee.

"Are you alright?"

A/N :
AHHH I'm so so sorry I posted this late😭. I've been busy with exams and had a slight writer's block. I wanted to add albinism and vitiligo representation but kinda forgot about it until now. I hope I described it decently and respectfully. Please tell me if I didn't and I will change it. Thank you for reading!
