As we approached the tables, the applause grew louder. The noise brought a genuine smile on my face, and a warmth in my gut. Charlotte was the first to be on her feet. She rushed over to us, and wrapped her arms around me and then Henry. He hugged her back, and something about their hug struck me as odd. I couldn't place my finger on it, but I swear it was there. She finally released him, and turned around, addressing the other guests.

"Well, there's the couple of the evening," she called out to them. "Let's wish them a happy anniversary."

"Happy Anniversary!" The guests echoed. The smile on my face only grew larger. Henry and folded his hands in gratitude. His eyes creased as he smiled, and a could see parts of the man I fell in love with many years ago. A part of me wondered if this was a mask. Of course it was. This man was incredibly deceptive.

"Thank you all coming, and for giving us your well wishes. I hope you enjoy the rest of the evening," he said with confidence.

As we were led to our table under the gazebo, people greeted us. An older man as pale as Henry approached us, smirking slightly. He was finely dress in an expensive tuxedo, complete with a blue tie.

"Garcia, like what you've done to the place," the man laughed. Henry stopped abruptly, causing me to stumble. He turned to the man, and they both went into a hand shake.

"Robert, so glad you could make it," Henry laughed as well.

"Are you kidding? I wouldn't it for the world," the other man said.

Henry seemed to remember that I was here, for he turned his attention back on me, "Robert this is my wife Matilda." I nodded in acknowledgement. "Matilda, this is Robert Mackenzie." Mackenzie? That named sounded familiar.

"Hello, your husband always talks about you," he informed me. He does? He looked behind him. "Dear, come meet the couple of the night."

The woman who sat beside him at his table spun around to face the three of us, and I recognised as Dr Mackenzie. She smiled at only me as she walked over to us.

"Adelaide, meet Mr and Mrs Garcia," he introduced us to her. "Guys, meet my daughter, Adelaide Mackenzie."

"Hello," Henry and I said in unison.

"Adelaide is a doctor at the General hospital. She keeps saying that she's not very good at her job, but I'm sure that her mentor and human on earth disagrees," her father added. The younger Mackenzie blushed at his praise for her.

"Dad, come on," She squeaked out. "But I'm sure Mrs Garcia knows this. I was one of her doctors when she was in the hospital."

"Yes, of course. You were very good," I complimented her. Before I knew it, she was hugging me, and confusion dwelled within me. I could only reciprocate her hug.

"How's the bruises?" she whispered in my ear. Oh.

"Healing," I replied.

"Remember what I told you," she warned. Her pupils trailed towards Henry who was talking to her father. She was talking about her suggestion of a restraining order against Henry.
