— 𝐈𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 forever before they finally reached Emily's house.
Willow was quick to get off of Paul once he bowed his head, and not even a few seconds later she was staring at his naked body. The urgency on his face stopped her from commenting about his modesty and waited for him to explain what was happening.
He didn't disappoint, as he took a minute to check over their surrounding before ushering her into the house.
Once they were sat, he began.
"Two very important things just happened. The first: as the rest of the pack had started making their way back to Emily's, they scented a smell similar to a leech. The only problem was that it smelled better than a leech. Less sickly sweet and just sweeter in general." He paused to take a breath and make sure she was following along.
She was.
"So they followed the scent and caught sight of a red-headed leech." Willow inhaled sharply at that, but Paul only continued. "But this was different. We know that Victoria is hard to catch because of her enhanced self-preservation ability — but this leech...she wasn't hard to catch at all. It was like she wanted to be caught."
"But that doesn't make sense," Willow replied, to which Paul nodded.
"It wouldn't if it wasn't for the fact that Embry imprinted on her."
Her eyes widened in shock. "What!?"
"Embry had been the one to catch her, as he's the fastest in the pack. He jumped on her and was just about to kill her when they locked eyes. The rest of the pack was quick to follow him and was ready to attack — which is why Embry suddenly howled. He needed to get them away from his imprint. He needed to protect her."
Willow nodded. "So what was the other howl?"
Paul sighed heavily in response. "Seth Clearwater just phased."
The Sinclair gasped, "But he's only a year older than Brady!"
"Unfortunately, the shifter genes don't care about age. But it gets worse..." He trailed off into silence for a moment, as his face contorted into one of pain.
"Harry Clearwater was there when Seth phased. Shocked him so bad, that he had a heart attack. He's...he's gone."
Willow closed her eyes at the confirmation of her thoughts and moved to squeeze his hand.
"Please tell me the pack is on their way to find Seth. The poor thing, he must be so scared and confused right now. Probably ran off to hide somewhere." It was Emily who spoke, and the couple turned to find the concerned faces of Kim and Emily standing by the couch near the living room doorway.
"Oh God, Leah, and Aunty Sue!" The woman cried out, and Willow felt a wave of sympathy overcome her.
Harry was her uncle, Seth and Leah are her cousins, and Sue is her aunt. This is her family she's hearing about, and she can't even check in on them.
The Clearwaters hadn't spoken to Emily ever since she got together with Sam. She only remembers this because Brady — who's friends with Seth, told her that despite what most of the reservation thought — it wasn't Leah forcing them to cut off contact with the girl.
The family had chosen to do that all on their own, as a show of solidarity for their daughter and sister.
Of course, Willow knew that Harry had to talk to Emily to some degree due to being a part of the council — but other than that it was radio silence.
It was all around a terrible situation, and adding on Embry's vampire imprint — which is a complicated situation in of itself...the pack had a very very long day ahead of them.
And Willow was gonna be there for it for every second. Because her family needed her, and she needed them. Together, they were gonna get through this.
