DAILY WRITING PROMPT
Write a prose poem addressed to someone you're in unrequited love with
How much longer can this last?
For every day I see you, and I fall in love with you all over again
My love has turned my soul into a smoldering volcano
Yet no one knows
I do such a good job keeping it hidden
But someone will find out someday
Maybe you?
You are perfection
Your blonde hair cascading down past your breast
The curves of your body
The roundness of your lips
The gleaming green eyes that pierce my soul
And the way you blink your eyes
You say more with a single blink than you ever could with words
I want you, yet you don't want me
"Give it time," I tell myself
But what if the time comes and I say the wrong thing?
Or make you uncomfortable?
So I sit quietly
And stare at your necklace
Hoping that down below
There's a place in your heart
For a girl like me
