Asher
I had the best time at the ice rink and at lunch with Jenna...and Stephanie of course.
I got a glimpse of what life with her would be like and I have to say I liked it. Even my brothers commented and said that I looked happier and I was laughing more than I have in a while. I really need to talk to Stephanie about ending this shindig soon, so I can be free to be with my pixie, that is if she'll have me.
I got to hold her in my hands on Saturday and it was my pleasure. It was a bonus that she wasn't a good skater, so I had the honor of guiding her around the ice.
It's been a couple of days since the ice-skating trip and I'm feeling wound tight, as in I need to set my eyes on her and/or talk to her.
The weather looks good today so I'm going to head out on my motorbike and see where the road takes me. I get my biker jacket and boots because I'm already wearing jeans and slip my phone and wallet into my pocket. I grab my helmet and head out to my garage.
Once I'm on the road I don't think about much. I am on the road for what feels like hours until I finally take the next off-ramp that I see. I end up in a little rural town, I find a parking spot and look around. I see a diner and head inside to grab a bite to eat.
After eating I check the time and see that I left home 2 hours ago so I probably traveled about one hour and thirty minutes. I should probably head back because looking at the clouds, it looks like a storm could grace us soon and I don't want to catch it.
I am just entering the city when it starts pouring and I can barely see anything but I'm thankful that the roads are not full. I slow down my speed because the roads are slippery, and I don't want to find myself in an accident.
I turn on a bend that is just before you get to my gated community but there are people crossing and I don't know where they come from but swerve trying to miss them and go over the railing on the side of the road and downhill I go with rocks hitting me at every turn. I try reaching for my phone but just as I'm reaching for it my bike comes barreling after me and everything goes black.

Beep

Beep
What is that noise? It is seriously giving me a headache; can someone please tell it to stop. I turn on my side to block the noise and everything hurts so I try to open my eyes and it takes great herculean effort, but I manage to do it and I see that I'm not in my bedroom. This room is all white and my room does not have stark white walls.
On further observation I gather that I'm at the hospital, but for what? Just then my mother enters the room followed by my father and Mickey. She has bloodshot eyes and it immediately all comes back to me, the people crossing at the bend just before you get to my neighbourhood, me swerving, the tumble downhill and the bike landing on top of me.
I remember all of it and now the pounding headache and the hospital make sense.
"Oh, my baby!" mom fusses over me and asks Mickey to go and call the doctor.
The doctor comes in. "Good evening Mr McLaren, good to see that you are awake. Do you know why you are here?"
I tell him what I know from the accident.
"Good, that's a good sign that you remember, how many fingers am I holding."
"Four."
"Good, that means brain function has not been affected. Mr McLaren you suffered a broken leg, a concussion and you have a nasty gash on your forehead but that should heal up in no time. Also, you have a couple of broken ribs and I'm happy to say that other than that everything else is just fine and you will make a full recovery Mr McLaren. You will have to attend physical therapy for a couple of weeks and I will have you in a cast for six weeks or more if you are not taking it easy."
He writes something on his chart and lets us know that the nurse will be in shortly to check that I get some pain relievers.
"Doctor, when do you think I'll get discharged?" I ask.
"I want to keep you here a few days for observation then you will be able to go home. I would say in about five days." I thank him, and he leaves.
The next day is much more bearable than the day before and I get surprise visitors.
Stephanie and Jenna come to see me at the hospital and I get the sense that I look worse than I see myself and the doctor has made sense of a light situation because the girls are in hysterics when they see me.
Jenna
Today my sister took me out to lunch and it was very much needed because we need to catch up.
My sister looks lighter than she has been since the whole thing with Thomas started and I'm glad for that.
"So, tell me what has been going on in your life these days. I feel like a bad sister and I've only been making things about me and sort of forgotten about you." She asks me after the waitress has taken our orders.
Well... I have been lusting after your boyfriend and I cant get my emotions in check whenever I'm around him, which seems to be a lot these days I want to say but instead I say, "I'm not too bad and it's okay if you make things about you because you need the time to heal and I'm happy if I can help you in that process. In fact, I want you to come to me with everything that's weighing you down because I know that you would want the same from me." I say covering her hand with both of mine.
"Well, that's good-" She is interrupted by her phone buzzing on the table between us.
It is facing down so she turns it up and there are no contact details just a local number. She answers it and her eyes get glossy. While I can't hear what the other person is saying I know that it can't be good news. I'm praying in my head that please don't let it be mom, dad, Max or Gwen...oh my gosh please don't let it be the baby!
My mind is running rampant right now and I'm impatiently waiting for Stephanie to be done with the phone call already, so I can find out what's going on. She ends the call and tells me,
"Asher is in hospital he was in a motorbike accident yesterday. Can I take a rain check on lunch and we do it another time?" she asks me guiltily, gosh girl as if you have anything to be guilty about it's me that should be guilty with the thoughts I have about Asher.
"It's okay and I can come with you...that's if you want me to." I rush to say the last part and cross my fingers and toes that she says yes.
"I would really love that." She squeezes my hand gently and waves down the waitress and tells her that we won't be eating the food as an emergency has come up, but we will still pay for it, to compensate for their troubles.
After quickly paying the bill we rush to the car and thank God we came in one car.
