"Are you thinking about him?" Lacy asked, standing behind me.
I simply nodded and I hugged her then began to sob. Lacy knew me so well. She could basically read my mind.
" We are going home" I said wiping my face.
Its hard to believe that Lacy was handling things better than I was. She was such a strong person.
We walk out the mall with our "purchased" items to my truck. I put everything in the tool box then lit a cigarette.
" You should quit smoking" Lacy said.
" If only you knew how hard it is, you wouldn't bother me about it" I replied smiling and taking a drag.
We began driving home with only a few zombies, and a whole pack of cigarettes. I really need to chill with this.
It was getting dark and I don't like driving at night, so I found an abandoned house to take shelter in.
The house was surprisingly zombie free, but we still needed to be cautious.
Lacy and I were getting ready to lay down and get ready to sleep because we would need to be up early.
"Ava, why do you still care about Calvin, knowing that he is probably dead? I'm young and I don't understand love but I just want to know why you want to go back" I looked at Lacy astonished by her words. Why does she have to be so smart?
" I can't explain it Lacy. He brought out the best in me, he made shine like bright colors on a sunny day. He was my first love." I replied, thinking about Calvin.
Lacy gave me an odd look," Did you guys do it?"
"Lacy Marie!... That is none of your business.." I replied blushing.
Soon we fell alseep after an hour of jokes.
Why is it so cloudy? What's going on? I walking around in this fog and I don't know where I am.
"Lacy!Lacy where are you!!!"I screamed panicking.
"Are you looking for me?" I turned around to see Lacy. She looked very pale and her caramel eyes turned into a cloudy gray.
Her skin slowly started peeling of her bones.
"Lacy what happened to you? Did you get bit?" I asked almost in tears.
Lacy grabbed me by my shoulder and began shaking me" Ava! Ava wake up! Ava!!"My eyes shot open to see Lacy sitting over me and she had panic written on her face. I didn't even have to ask to know what was wrong. I looked out the window to see maybe 70 zombie approaching us and I could smell there deathly presence.
We grabbed all of out things and ran to the door. From the looks of it we would need to get to my truck and fight them off with my assault rifles and machine guns on the top.
" Stay behind me and be alert. We need to make a straight line from here to the truck. And we will fight the rest off from there." I said to Lacy.
She nodded and got her gun ready. I opened up the door and they were right up on us. Lacy and I began shoot, right between the eyes.
We shot around 20 zombies on the way to the truck. We quickly got it in as they crowded around.
"Lacy, do the honors?" I said starting the engine.
Lacy nodded and climbed out the back window. Lacy immediately began shooting, as I tried to pull out. One of the foul creatures was at my window trying to break through. I rolled the window down far enough to bust a cap in his eye socket.
I was trying desperately to drive away, but they were surrounding my truck. If we didn't get out soon we were going to be zombie dinner.
"Lacy, hold on to something!!" I yelled to her as I shifted into reverse and stomped on the gas petal. After a few bumps and scrapes we were away from them.
" God damnit Ava! Talk about impulse control!" exclaimed Lacy while climbing back into the cab of the truck.
"Well we got out alive now didn't we?" I replied." Now lets go home."
