The ride to our hometown was a good three hour drive, but it wasn't boring, especially with Lacy around. She kept me laughing and joking to keep my mind off of things. Sometimes it feels like she should be the one protecting me.

But I couldn't help but still be afraid. I didn't know what I would be more afraid to see: Calvin dead or him turned into one of those foul creatures. Either way it would work, but if he was a zombie, I don't know if I could kill him. Why does love have to be like this?

"Looky what we have here." Lacy said snapping me out of my thoughts. It was a zombie chowing down on someones intestines. Just the sight of it pissed me off.

" I got this" said Lacy with a smirk " Pass me the baseball bat" I was confused as to what she would be doing, but Lacy is anything but a reckless person, so I wasn't to worried.

She rolled down her window and stuck half of her body out as I sped up a little bit. As we got right up to him, Lacy pulled the bat back all the way to her shoulder. She swung so hard, I could hear the wind whistle.  Lacy hit his head so hard, it all but exploded.

Lacy got back in the truck with a smile. " Well atleast seven years of softball didn't go to waste" She said while throwing the bat out the window.

" That's my girl" I said shifting into third gear. We continued to drive until got to Calvin's driveway and I grabbed my guns.

" Lacy whatever we find in there, I just want you to know that if he's one them, I won't have the will power to shoot" I said sounding afraid.

" I will do it" Lacy replied, concerned.

We walk into the house and there wasn't any lights on. There was dust on everything and it smelled like musk.

We look around the house to see if we can find anything, when something walking up stairs. Lacy and I started to walk to the second floor, where I heard water running. It was coming from Calvins room. I walked in the room. with my gun ready.

Someone stepped out the bathroom with a towel wrapped around him. My eyes began to water as I scanned his body. He was still perfect. My beautiful Calvin.

"Ava?" he asked with a big smile.
