Bring Bring.

My alarm clock goes off. I groan as I stretch out my arms, pulling away my silk covers. Just as I got out of my bedroom, I witnessed Jeremiah rushing up the stairs in a rush. He had his uniform all puckered up, with his sleek dark hair combed out to match his gradient skin.

"What's the rush? It's only 8.35." I laugh, concerned.

He brushes off my question as he dissapears into his bedroom only seconds later, re appearing with a small Moschino bag. "Forgot Kyla's present."

He starts with his way down the stairs before re-connecting his eyes with mine with a disgust look, "if your using the title of my step-sister at least look presentable."

That idiot. I roll my eyes, annoyed. How can a girl like Kyla even live with that agony? It's like Kyla literally thinks he's someone so nice and generous but he's such an act in front of her. But, I'm not going to deny it, Jeremiah is a romantic, he loves Kyla so much. She's the only girl he ever talks about ever since he gave up the player life, I wish more guys had that side of them like he does now. Especially hoping Micah does. I mean did.

After getting all preppy for school I finally got there on time. Gladly.

I turn round the corner in the hallway and spot Chantelle's Givenchy bag and stay in my space as Tristan is with her, I had totally forgot about what happened at the party. How could that slip out of my mind? I ease on to their conversation as slyly as possible.

"You always do this to me, you can't blame me anymore!" I hear Chantelle's voice shake. "I knew you had given up on us, I knew you didn't feel the same about me the minute I saw you."

There was a pause in their conversation and I heard a few sniffles come out of Chantelle.

"I tried looking for you, I promise. I couldn't find you and then I was told that you left." Tristan convinces.

"I only went to that party to be with you, I stayed there for 2 hours waiting for you, how much longer could I have waited?" Chantelle says steadily, I could tell from her voice that she was seconds from breaking point.

I was keeping in my disposal. I thought this was it, Tristan was going to tell her and he would probably slip up the truth and blame this on me. That's it, Chantelle was going to hate me forever, for something I didn't do.

"Leave it. You're worthless," Chantelle squabbles at him with anger, and dusts away, leaving him in the hallway alone.

I scurry past him, trying to catch up to Chantelle but a feel a tight clasp on my wrist and I'm being towed back by Tristan.

"What?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Don't tell her, please." He says softly with his eyes shrinking.

I look past him to see if Chantelle can still be spotted and then turn to him. "You're the one that tried it with me, I don't want you to be spreading it the other way round."

"Let's just keep this between us?" He suggests.

I don't respond. I don't want this to be kept from Chantelle, it just doesn't feel right but if I want to savour our friendship, this is probably the only way I can go about it.

I nod at Tristan and he gives me a tight squeeze on my shoulder before heading away.

"Wait," I call after him. He leaps back, with a mutual expression. "What even was that at the party?"

He chuckles, profusely whilst running his hands through his hair. "I don't know, you tell me." He looks down on me, moving closer and taking my hand into his.

I can feel my cheeks turning pink, it was something different in Tristan that I never got from Micah.

I snap out of the stupid reality tv programme I'm in and take my hand away, "No seriously, you know I'm her best friend. How could you?"

He sighs, "It was a mistake, okay? Sorry if you didn't like it but I'm not sorry."

Clearly Tristan had changed over the holiday, he use to never even be able to look at me with both eyes and now he feels the need to hold my hand when he knows straight up that he already has a girlfriend? He kisses his teeth at my absence to the conversation and walks straight off.
