Pain and Wonder

(Team 7 and 10 POV)

Its been 4 days since Naruto has left and there have been subtle differences in the village. There have been a few thugs that have avoided hurting others or directed the rest of the thugs away from the village. It has made it easier for both teams where they were able to get some training in for the genins. For those with low chakra like Ino and Sakura, they were able to learn the tree walking exercise and water walking as well. For the others like Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Choji barely finished their tree walking exercise although honestly Shikamaru didn't try as much as the others. Sasuke was angry with not being able to handle this exercise and starts to berate the others for not helping him. That just further annoys the others. That has how its been for the few days that have past.

Its early in the morning where everyone is barely waking up and going to to the living room for breakfast. Sakura asked to help Tsunami with with breakfast as Ino starts setting up the table. Inari, Tsunami's son ranted about how Gato is to strong with his army of thugs and that they are just wasting their time and lifes to go against him. How they are so lucky with the lifes they had and that they don't know what his life is like. Many understand where he is coming from since they believe he lost someone close to him. Out of nowhere comes a knock on the door so Choji goes to open it. 

Choji opening it up sees who it is and lets him come in. Naruto coming in feels the tension that eludes the room. Inari not knowing who he is talking to starts ranting again. "So another ninja that  got a free pass in life huh. Why bother coming over to waste your life. You alone can't do anything just lea....." Inari couldn't finish since Naruto got to him grabbing him by the neck. \

"I would recommend you shut the hell up brat. You have no I idea how lucky you actually are. Unlike you there are others that have no family, no money, not even a home they can go to. You atleast still have a home, your mother, and your grandpa. Suffering that you mention pales in comparison. You living not even a month of my life after the age of 4 and you would have commited suicide like I have tri...enough about that just know that by the time we are leaving, Gato will cease to exist here. I'm going out." Naruto quickly left not bothering to answer any questions that the others had or even look at their faces. Inara just starts crying and leaves as well.

"He was about to say...that he...tried didn't he...." asked a pale teary eyed Ino. Others looked stressed with the news they have heard. Choji stop eating and putting his chips away unable to enjoy the food. Sakura and Tsunami who heard him started to cry. Kakashi and Asuma just stayed quiet letting it seep in that they almost might not have had Naruto in their life's right now. Sasuke was just brooding quietly but was able to read the room to stay quiet. 

(Naruto POV)

I couldn't handle their eyes looking at me with the slip of the tongue. 'Fucking dammit couldn't just keep my mouth shut huh....' I got to the forest and started to smash my fist into the trees breaking a chunk of the bark off every hit. After taking down 10 trees, I decide to stop and let myself cool down. "You ok now Naruto?" "Yea Kura, just let his words get to me. I know it was him letting his emotions control him but still." "Yea I know Naruto just know I'm here for you. I'll always be with you." Naruto smiling just said "Thank you Kura". "Someone is coming Naruto."

Sakura appears behind him but just watches him for a bit to see if he has cooled down. "I know your there Sakura, can I help you with something?" Sakura alittle jumpy at first, gets out from behind the tree and walks up to him. She decides to sit next to him and calms her nerves a bit. "Mind if I ask you something? I understand its not a good time but its the only time I see where we are alone." I'm wondering what she has in mind and let her know to continue. "I know I was naïve of what you have went through in your past but was everything a lie? I know I was a bitch to you but honestly after what has happen recently, I believe I was just blinding myself. Like looking at a tunnel and never paying attention to my back."

Naruto wanting to see how she responds says "Most of it was a lie when it came to my studies, attitude, clothing, close to everything. I had to for personal reasons to survive. Like I mention before if you guys correctly why I will respond but just know I did have a few sentiments I didn't lie. One was me actually liking you. I did before your fangirl bitchy phase started to show. I also knew who you liked so I decide to sacrifice what I had for you so you can be happy but also to forget you as well. Surprisingly it was hard for a while since you were the first honest girl that was friendly to me in general. What I mean is girls my age to women." 

Sakura listen to everything I was saying quietly with a concerned but also with a twinkle of wonder. What would she be thinking to have that twinkle? I let myself get quiet as she takes in what I said. In her mind though, she does remember a blond kid that would play with her and compliment her big forehead that she had hated for a while. She now realizes that it was Naruto the whole time. 'What changed? Now that I think of it, the last time I was friendly with him was after my picked me up one day and saw us play with Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji. But also...I remember blaming him of something. The look of betrayal and pain in those eyes....' Sakura wide eyed remembers that the village hates him and that they probably gave him the same eyes at that time as the villages. 'We ostracize him then without realizing it plus with my mom telling me to get away from him, I subconsciously pushed him away anyway possible, even hitting him'. 

"Naruto....I know this may sound as pity but I just realized when things changed for us. I want to say sorry for my stupidity but also my cowardice for never wanting to understanding you. I just followed what was told of me leading to where we are now. I don't need your forgiveness if you don't want to but just know I am sorry." Naruto listening looks at her eyes which are showing raw emotions of sorrow, guilt, bitterness, and anger? But one thing he sees is the truth in her words. Naruto just sighs but understands she is understanding him a bit. Not as the image he showed but about him directly. 

"I can't forgive you yet. But I am willing to give you a chance one more time. Don't fuck it up Sakura because afterward I won't care if you die in any of our missions next time." She shakes alittle but nods her head. She still looks like she is hesitating a bit so I decide to reward her courage. "Anything else you wondering?" Sakura biting her lip finally lets a breath she was holding and asks "Well I know its insensitive of me, but can I hear what you been through and how you handled it? I know you have your secret but I promise to know about it so you have someone to talk to  about it. But I wanna know your journey and some of your pain so I can understand you more." Naruto surprised of the question asks internally "Kura should I mention somethings to her? Honestly from what I can see from her eyes, she looks like in pain and her guilt is eating her from the inside. But also some wonder about me." "I would say honestly yes. You are still in your early years and yet barely had genuine friends your age other then Hinata. If she wants to know more let her know a little bit but let her know you won't tell her everything since you can't fully trust her yet." "Got it thanks again." Kura smiling said your welcome.

"I'll let you know a bit Sakura but not everything since I honestly can't fully trust you. I rarely do with anybody. Even the Hokage since he hid a lot from me and didn't help defend me from the pains I had to live with. Understood?" She looked like she had some life appear in her eyes a bit with her nodding.
