[ CHAPTER FOURTEEN: Sleepy Milkshakes ]
ADRIANNA AND MIGUEL SAT ON HER BED, waiting for the food to arrive. "Where's your mom?" Miguel asked, breaking the silence. "She's been taking extra shifts." Adrianna replied. She laid deep in her pillows, trying not to doze off.
"Your bed's comfy." Miguel admitted, a laugh escaping Adrianna as she nodded. "I know, if the food takes any longer, I'll fall asleep." She yawned. As if it was on cue, the doorbell rang. "I'll go get it." Miguel volunteered before getting up and practically running to get the food.
Once the food was placed on Adrianna's night stand, she grabbed her banana shake. "This is so good." Adrianna sighed. She'd finally started eating her burger and fries.
The two are in silence, saying random things every now and then, Adrianna had finished her food and laid flat on her back, like a starfish. Miguel did the same, except he was at the edge of Adrianna's bed, since she took up most of it with her starfish-ness.
Adrianna yawned again, sipping the last of her milkshake before turning on her side, facing Miguel to see him looking at her. He smiled lazily up at her. "I'm tired." She complained. "I know, me too." Miguel nodded. Adrianna sighed, finally giving in to fall asleep.
"I'm going to sleep." Adrianna said in a raspy, tired voice, "Same." Miguel nodded slowly, looking into each other's eyes before closing them shut. Adrianna kept her eyes closed as she reached to give him a peck on the forehead.
