"It is with my great pleasure and honor to announce that the future king of the United Kingdom, both yours and mine. The one to lead and protect OUR beloved country is..." In a matter of minutes former queen of the United Kingdom, Louisa announced. The crowd in the Great Albert Hall and everybody watching around the world were on the edge of their seats, waiting for the queen to announce the you man that will continue on her legacy.
...
"Louis, Louis, get off that tree immediately, I am serious, you are going to get hurt!" Louis' mum Annette called out for her eldest, looking up from the ground of the Royal Palace's garden, seeing the boy carefree, but more importantly careless sat on the highest branch of their Cherry tree, that one always being Louis' favourite."Umm...how about no?" Fifteen year old Louis pretend to think before he shouted back to his mum, who was to him so far away, enjoying how he could see the entire palace from his position, dreaming of one day being in charge of this place and feeling as he was on top of the world.
"Louis, love, don't make me call your father" Annette desperately threatened, a part of her saddened by the fact that her son would always have more respect towards his father.
"Nice try mum, but dad's out of the country for "business" and you know better than anyone that he doesn't like to be disturbed when he's on "business"" Even at fifteen Louis knew that this was a low blow, but his mother was interrupting his alone time and his dad always taught him to "Stand his ground and never let anyone boss him around"
"Even mum?"
"Especially mum"
"Louis, honey, I love you more than anybody in this world and I only want what's best for you, but don't test the love and patience I have for you. Get off of this tree, I order you!" Annette sighed, before she shouted out of pure frustration, catching Louis off guard while the ten year old Inez who was reading "Pride and Prejudice "on the picnic blanket under the trees, was used to it, not taking her eyes off of the book.
"You know that only grandma can order me" Louis sassed back at which clapping could be heard, followed by a giggle.
"That's my darling boy"
"Grandma? What are you doing here?" Louis was surprised to say the least, considering that his grandma was supposed to be visiting around the country this weekend, meeting new people and getting to see how she can help and make their lives easier, that's something Louis always dreamed of doing one day.
"Heard all the commotion and had to see what was going on! Now, would you be a dear and come down, we are going to have tea and talk about something very important" Louisa called down her grandson, a tight-lipped smile never leaving her face as she spoke to him and Louis, out of love and respect (mixed with fear from time to time) knew that it was time to come down. In order to become a king one day, he was aware that support from his grandmother came a long way.
"Of course Grandma!"
"Thank you Louisa, don't know what I would've done if he got hurt" Annette turned to Louisa, genuinely thankful for the queen's good deed, thinking that for a moment she had the women on her side before she turned to the French heiress, the same smile that she had with Louis on her face, but the worlds...shoot to kill.
"Oh dear, of course, this is the future of our country after all, don't know what we would do if he got hurt because his mother was incapable of...well being a mother, now would we?"
"Grandma!" Louis ran towards the woman, wrapping his arms around her waist, causing the woman to look down, chuckling as she pulled him in for a hug and towards the palace. Leaving Annette behind them in the garden and young Inez, who heard it all.
