"Cut it out!" giggled Sapnap, guarding himself with a paper towel.
"Not until you let me see it!"
Karl and Nick sat at the island in the middle of the kitchen while Karl persistently flung noodles at his partner.
"Okay! I surrender!" laughed Nick, dropping the shield and putting his hands up. He lowered one of his hands and carefully pulled a receipt out of his black sweatpants. "Here," he said with a tone of playful defeat in his voice. He placed it on the counter and hung his head as if to pout as Karl placed two fingers on it and slid the paper towards him. He cocked his head, a confused look on his face.
"Sap, why'd you spend 60 dollars on heating pads?"
Sapnap smiled and looked up at Karl, their eyes meeting. "You were cold."
"Cute of you. Now come on, let's go watch Tokyo Goul. I never got to finish the last episode because you started streaming. We can clean up later." Karl got up and walked over to Sapnap, pulling him off of his barstool and wrapping his arms around his neck, burying his face in Nick's chest.
"What about your ramen? You didn't eat any," worried Sapnap, stroking the brunette's fluffy hair.
"I'm not really hungry."
"Okay."
The two of them walked into the living room and sat down on the couch, pulling a blanket over each other. Sapnap grabbed the remote and opened Hulu, clicking on his profile. "I love you, Karl," whispered Sapnap, kissing Karl's head.
"I love you too, Pandas."
_______________
It was raining. Dream pulled on his hood and ran towards the house, splashing in puddles and soaking his shoes. He rang the doorbell, looking around. The streetlights reflected off the puddles, giving off lofi-music thumbnail vibes. The door opened, and Dream was forced to stare at the awful sight in front of him.
"Hi, Dream!" said Sapnap.
Dream's mouth fell open as he searched for something to say, a sentence to form, words to escape his mouth. His eyes travelled over Sapnap's body.
Sapnap's hair was greasy and messy as of it hadn't been washed in weeks. His clothes had been ripped and stained. He was holding, or rather leaning, onto the doorframe to support his thin, pale, figure. And his eyes... they had black circles under them and the heaviest eyebags Dream had ever seen. They were red and his dark brown pupils seemed to be asking for help, a way out. Sapnap looked horrible, yet he played it off.
"You okay? he asked, pulling Dream out of his trance.
"Yeah... Umm can I come in?"
"Sure!"
Sapnap opened the door all the way, allowing Dream to escape the bad weather. He shut the door behind them as Clay bent down to untie his shoes. He set the Forces down on the shoe rack next to a pair of dirty-orange Crocs before standing up, gaping as Sapnap once more before following him.
As soon as they reached the kitchen, Dream gagged. A foul smell flooded into his nose. He looked for the source. A bowl with a picture of Ryuk containing rotten noodles sat on the island, infested with maggots. They were all dead, though, the larva dried up and stale. As he looked around the kitchen, he noticed that there were noodles everywhere. The counters were littered with broken glass and trash, and the sink was filled to the brim with unwashed dishes that would probably never be used again.
Dream stuttered. "Sap, wha-"
"Shhh- Karl's asleep," whispered Sapnap, putting a finger to his dry, cracked lips.
