Jopper One-Shots

Extended Family

Walking through the front door, Joyce and Hopper heard the stomping of feet as they ran towards them from all over the house.

Joyce held her hand out in front of her and they all stopped, giving her confused looks.

"Shh, you're gonna wake him up." She said in a quiet voice. The kids quietly walked over to the couple and peeked at the baby in Joyce's arms.

"Awww."

"He's so cute!"

"He looks like dad!"

A chorus of sweet compliments echoed around the couple and the newborn. Joyce looked at Hopper and smiled at him. He smiled back and kissed her head, wrapping her arm around her waist. 

Nancy looked at the couple, "Can I hold him?"

"I wanna hold him too." Steve butted in as he shoved past Eddie and Billy who glared at him. Joyce giggled and nodded, "You all will get a chance to hold him. Go wash your hands and sit in the living room. We're coming."

All the teenagers gasped before running to the bathroom and kitchen sink to wash their hands thoroughly.

Hopper left Joyce's bag and walked with her into the living room, letting her sit comfortably on the couch before walking away to get her some water and a snack. Joyce looked down at the baby in her arms and smiled lovingly at him.

"Seems like you're gonna have a lot of brothers and sisters, baby boy." She whispered softly making the baby coo. Joyce giggled and kissed his head, rearranging him in her arms as she waited for everyone to come back into the room.

Minutes later, the teenagers and Hopper walk back into the room, the teens gathering around her on the ground while Hopper sits next to her on the couch. 

"Ready Nancy?" Joyce asked as the young lady nods her head excitedly and grins, holding her arms out for the baby. The mother smiles before carefully passing the baby boy into her arms.

"Support his head, sweetie," Joyce instructs as Nancy carefully arranges the baby in her arms, smiling down at him. She gasps and softly kisses the baby's head.

"Hi, sweet boy. Hi. I'm Nancy, I'm going to be your big sister. We're not blood-related but why does that matter?" Nancy talks softly to the baby making Joyce and Hopper smile. The group on the floor crowded around Nancy, smiling at the baby.

"He's so cute," El whispered as she softly ran her finger down the baby's leg. Will looked at his parents, "We don't know his name."

Jonathan looked up and nodded, "Yeah. You never told us."

Joyce and Hopper looked at each other before looking back at the teenagers. 

"His name is Matthew. Matthew James Hopper." Hopper answered a smile gracing his lips. Eddie looked at Jonathan and grinned, "He's named after your Dad like you."

"Have another girl so we can name her after Mom," El said making everyone laugh. 

Joyce smiled at El and reached over, ruffling her long, brunette hair, "We'll see, princess."

El grinned at her mother before looking down at the baby. The baby slowly started to stretch in Nancy's arms before his eyelids started to lift, showing his bright, baby-blue eyes.

Max gasped, "He has the Chief's eyes!"

"Aww, look at that!"

"He's Chief Junior now."

"Hey! I'm Chief Junior." Jonathan said with a small, playful pout making Nancy giggle.

"You be Chief 2.0. This one will be Chief 2.5"

Steve nodded his head before adding, "And then when one y'all little kids have a baby and name it after the Chief, they'll be Chief 3.0."

Mike frowned, "Why can't you older ones have the kids and name them after him?"

Eddie sighed, "Alas, only one of us has a girlfriend."

Max clapped Will on the back, "You ready to be an uncle, Will?"

They all burst out laughing before quieting down when they heard a small whimper come from Matthew's lips.

"Can I hold him?" Will whispered to Nancy who looked at Joyce and Hopper. The couple nodded their heads and with that, she made Will sit in front of her before carefully placing Matthew in his arms.

"Oh, my god. He's so tiny!" Will exclaimed in a quiet voice as he smiled down at his baby brother.

"And so chubby! Look at those cheeks!" Robin exclaimed quietly, softly pinching Matthew's fat cheeks. Will kissed his baby brother's small forehead before passing him over to Jonathan, who then passed him to Steve.

"Hi, Matthew! No wait, I'll call you...MJ."

"MJ?" Joyce questioned as she leaned into Hopper's side, chewing on the bar he had given to her as a snack. Steve looked at her and nodded his head before explaining, "MJ. Matthew James."

"Awww." All the girls cooed making Steve blush slightly. He shook his head before looking down at Matthew. 

"I'm Steve, also your big brother. We have a gigantic family. Your mommy is the prettiest lady on the whole planet. I don't know how your dad was able to get her in bed." Steve said before receiving a slap to the back of the head from Hopper. He laughed and continued, "Your dad's the Chief of Police. He's gonna take you everywhere in his blazer. You have eight awesome older brothers and five beautiful sisters. Six when Chrissy gets back from her cheerleading competition." 

Everyone looked at Steve interacting with the baby. All have smiles on their faces. Everyone thinking the same thing, "I never knew Steve had a soft spot for babies".

"Okay, pass him over Stevie-boy. Big brother Billy wants to hold him." Billy said, opening his arms towards Steve. Robin scoffed and shoved him over, "It's actually my turn. Been waiting since Nancy held him."

"Oh, please. Shouldn't El have a turn?" Eddie asked, nodding his head towards El who was basically staring at the baby with heart eyes. Billy and Robin huffed before scooting away from Steve and letting El have her turn with the baby. She was hesitant at first but, after many encouragements from Joyce, Max, and Nancy, she held the baby safely in her arms. 

Matthew cooed as he snuggled into his sister's chest making El gasp softly. 

"MJ. M...J." El tested the name on her lips. Max scooted over to her and set her chin on El's shoulder, looking down at the baby.

"MJ. It's a cute nickname, right El?"

El smiled and nodded her head, "Cutest nickname ever."

Joyce smiled and watched her family interact with the newest addition to the family. She was right, her baby boy is going to have a lot of brothers and sisters, not all of them blood-related but, she wouldn't have it any other way.
