01: I'm no longer myself

The village of Seris, the mythical place of the accident, it all started with the two sisters, Sarah and Abby, who had survived for a long time, managing to save themselves from the sacrifice, but the day finally came.

The task was not simple, it was entrusted to someone important in the magistrate, and who more reliable than the very son of the Grand Magister Karne, Corvus, a promising man who had a good military career, aspiring to keep high the legacy of his father, he had been part of The Outer Tribunal, a couple of years ago; his efforts paid off, thus obtaining the rank of Officer.

Corvus had spent years studying about the abyss, every book that talked about that, he had already read it, at least once, but he didn't admire it, it was the opposite. Corvus studied The Abyss, as a strategist studies his opponent, that was what led him to ensure that the ritual was carried out perfectly, until they found another way, this had to be done, and it had to be done right.

The son of the Grand Magister escorted Abby, one of the sisters, to the entrance of the portal, using a prison carriage, Sarah, the remaining sister, felt she had to do something. Up to this point everything remains normal, this story has been told many times, but I assure you this is not the one you've already heard.

Sarah, with an impressive will made her way through the crowd, heading to the place of the sacrifice, she made it, but when she was close enough, she was stopped by the soldiers, they asked Corvus what to do, he recognized the girl, so he did the only thing he thought he could do for her, he cut a lock of her sister's hair and threw it to her, offering it to her as a souvenir.

The girl remained there, with the lock of hair in her hands, for a second she had thought of crying, the idea of going to the Pyre chapel and praying for her sister crossed her mind; but in the end, her anger was stronger, this is where everything changes, where the story takes another course. Sarah came to the conclusion that the Pyre would not save her sister, they had long since abandoned them all there, but she was still there, so she decided to do something, she released the lock, she didn't want a souvenir, she wanted her sister, again she approached the soldiers, but they immobilized her on the ground, the girl was screaming and struggling, trying to free herself, Corvus ordered to continue with the ritual.

The creature came out of the portal, a big purple dragon, an Abyssal Lord, ready to take the girl as a sacrifice, but something was wrong, he looked at the big crowd, a smile was drawn on his face, he decided that a simple soul wouldn't be enough, then what we all know already happened, a big explosion devastated The Village of Seris, a powerful beam came down from the sky in the middle of the process.

Shortly after, when the whole village had fallen, someone came out of the rubble, only this time, not the person we expected, the Pyre had chosen Corvus.

Corvus came out, he pushed it aside as he could, and his body was now covered by a heavy armor, which contained the representative colors of the Pyre: blue, white and gold, on his belt hung his automatic pistol, only now it looked different. He finally fell to his knees, while looking at his hands, observing his gauntlets and his whole armor, his head was uncovered.

He clenched his fists, at the same time he screamed in despair, looking in all directions, he was the only survivor, but why? Corvus thought he saw something in the rubble, he quickly dug with his hands.

"Wait, I'll get you out! Hold on!" he said as he pushed the rubble aside.

Then he realized that it was just a magistrate soldier's helmet, it had belonged to one of his men, Corvus held it firmly, rather angrily, turned it around and put it on.
He looked up at the sky, waiting for an answer, it didn't take long to reach him, the glow hit him again, in an instant, he had left the village of Seris, he was on a different plane.
