He was walking through the forest when he smelled the smoke.

As he approached the hill, he saw that the peak had been blown apart. Then he noticed three grey figures standing nearby. Not knowing whether they were hostile or not, he hid behind a tree, silently watching them.

Suddenly, the three sticks vanished from sight, and he felt himself being shoved against the tree trunk.

The unearthly gurgling noise, then a sharp pain in his gut. He looked down to see the blade of a dagger sticking out of his chest. As he stared, his bottom half began to feel numb. He tried to move his legs. They didn't. The numbness crept up his torso and down is arms. Finally, his neck grew numb, and he blacked out.

Positive gasped, sitting bolt upright in bed. He remained there, trying to steady his breathing.

It was still dark outside. Positive glanced at the clock on the wall.

5:47 A.M.

Positive groaned, so, to his astonishment, did Elemental, who was lying on the bed next to him.

Elemental blinked sleepily. "Wha... what's going on?"

"Nothing, nothing. Go back to sleep."

But Elemental knew it wasn't nothing. He sat up and faced Positive. "Another nightmare?"

Positive sighed and nodded. "It just keeps coming back to me. That night."

"Tell me what really happened."

Positive told him everything, including the altered version of his nightmare.

"Positive." Elemental took Positive's face in his hands. "There's no need to worry. I'm here, we're here, to make sure nothing bad happens to one another. If anything bad does happen, we save each other. I promise you, Positive, that I'll always have your back, no matter what happens."

Positive nodded gratefully.

"Now, go to sleep. In the morning, we'll have other things to worry about."
