"sawf yataeafaa. la taqlaq , tifl (He will recover. Don't worry, child)," Yardan's father assured Maryam holding one of her hands.

Maryam whispered," ana last qaliqa. ealaa al'aqali lays bialnisbat lah (I am not worried. At least not for him)."

Yardan was laying on the hospital bed like a corpse. Various types of medical equipment were attached to his body and his whole body was bandaged. There was no movement in him except his slow heartbeat.

Hearing about Yardan's accident his family reached the hospital along with Maryam. Everyone burst into tears after seeing his situation except for Maryam. She didn't shed a single drop of tear. Why would she? After all, she was the reason behind this accident.

She wanted him dead for her innocent children's death. She wanted to punish him. She was disappointed to hear that he survived. She did something to the car that breaks failed in the middle of the journey. Though the driver survived by jumping out of the car, Yardan couldn't do it because of his heavy weight. The car crashed with a tree with full force and Yardan almost died.

Everyone thought Maryam wasn't crying because she was still in shock but she was just disappointed. She wondered why The Almighty kept this murderer still alive.

Maryam heard her father-in-law talking to the doctor. Diverting her gaze from Yardan she concentrated on the doctor's words.

" Survival chance is very low. Even if he survives he will be paralysed. His spinal cord is severely injured. There was a heavy impact on the brain. There is a high chance of losing the ability to talk," The doctor told Yardan's father who was crying nonstop for his son.

Maryam heard but didn't even react. She has no sympathy for the person who killed her children one by one. She was wondering if her innocent children are happy to see this person in pain.

While thinking about her children she forgot about the children who became orphans even though they have parents. Yamir & Omaira were sobbing nonstop for their father. They were expecting their mother to console them, and pull them into her chest but she did nothing. They weren't understanding that their mother died leaving only her shell behind.

" aljadu (Grandpa)," Omaira cried in her grandfather's arms.

Yamir asked hugging Maryam's waist," Mamma, won't Baba talk to us again?"

Maryam looked at Yamir but except for anger, she felt nothing. She recalled Yardan's words and her parents' words. Whatever they did to her, they did for Yamir and Omaira. Her mind was only blaming them though they are innocent.

" I wish he never talks again," Maryam mumbled freeing herself from Yamir's hold.

Walking towards the glass door she looked inside the ICU where Yardan was laying. She smiled a little looking at him. It was a smile of mockery. She was satisfied to see him lifeless.

Now, she just wants only one thing. And, that is Mikaeel. She wants to go back to Mikaeel. She still believes he loves her.

A few months later

" What about the new project I signed earlier?" Maryam asked her PA.

He replied politely," We will start working on it soon."

" And, what about the projects in Pakistan? Did you contact Mr Mikaeel Sheikh? Didn't you tell him that the 'Al Shamsi' industries are interested to invest there?" Maryam asked him.

Her voice was bold and powerful. Her face was emotionless as well as her eyes. She was looking like a heartless rude woman.

" I contacted his PA already. I hope we will get a positive response soon," Her PA answered and then Maryam dismissed him.
